"We have visited this restaurant many times with friends from all over the world and always enjoyed its friendly atmosphere but yesterday - my wife's 70th birthday - was very different. We arrived for lunch and stood waiting for a few minutes but were ignored. We were surprised how many tables were empty - but soon found out why!We sat down in the shade and waited again but no one came. As a waiter passed I asked if it was ok to sit where we were. The waiter very rudely said "I don't know" and rushed off. He came back some minutes later and proceeded to give us a lecture on the correct way to behave on arrival! Apparently we should not have sat down without his permission - he spoke as if talking to a naughty child. Despite his rudeness I asked politely if we could have a beer. His reply was "No - you wait"! At this point we left vowing never to return. We have never met such rude, pompous and self-important behaviour from a waiter before in our lives."
