"Lunch was a set course affair with Swiss colleagues and our UK visitors and was really superb. The service was fantastic, the food was excellent and the Tiramisu was to die for. The main restaurant looked very busy so this is clearly a popular restaurant...in the heart of the Altstadt. Perfect, highly recommended."

"Been to this restaurant for lunch after read the review. We ordered two big dishes, they're very salty! We asked for 2 cups of hot water to go with the food, it came as 3 CHF per cup! It was not mentioned anywhere nor pointed out by the waitress on additions charges. We then spoke with the manager before paying to point out that these charges should be clear up front, and we felt unfair with these charges. However, the manager's altitude was poorly and he was telling us that we're in the wrong country because we informed him that these charges should have been made clear at the beginning. After travelling around Switzerland for almost a month, we have never expected such a terrible customer service! Despite the waitress was very friendly and served us well, the management was terrible - not listening to suggestions (we didn't even complaint apart from the manager telling us how he runs the business by making money from drinks and so on.) We're not in the wrong country but definitely in the wrong resultant! There're better places to have food in the square, avoid this one if you don't want to be ripped off."

"Letzten Donnerstag bin ich wieder mal ins Da Carlo und ich war sehr zufrieden. Ein echtes italienisches Restaurant. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen. Gute Küche, Personal aufmerksam, nett und kompetent. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet und saisonal. Wer wahre 'Italianità' sucht, ist im 'Da Carlo' genau am richtigen Ort. Der Geschäftsführer ist stets bereit und es entgeht ihm nichts. Super!"

"Sono passato più volte in questa tavola calda e mi hanno sempre accontentato. Semplice ma veloce e pulito proprio per pranzi veloci quando il lavoro chiama. Servizio veloce e educazione sono sempre presenti. Per chi volesse mangiare in poco tempo e si accontenta, lo consiglio sia per pranzo che per cena."

"Yea best Italian restaurant in bern in the did. I was in some Italian restaurants and I like these the best. Eating is great. People are nice. it is a local restaurant with few tourist (except perhaps me). the most food I tried were. good, but I really liked the bolognese pasta (shown in the picture). the place is also very quiet and relaxing. thank you, which I think I will come quite often"

"Wir waren jetzt innerhalb von einem Monat zweimal im Ambiente essen. Das Ristorante ist in der Nähe des Inselspital gelegen und sehr gut mit dem ÖV oder sogar nach einem kurzen Spaziergang vom Bahnhof Bern erreichbar. Das Lokal selber ist recht gross und aussen mit einer grossen Terrasse ausgestattet. Die Strasse die vor dem Ristorante vorbeiführt könnte durch den Tag recht belebt sein... Drinnen ist es sehr freundlich und der Empfang war herzlich. Die Tische sind nicht zu nah und es hat genügend Platz am und um den Tisch. Wir wurden an unseren reservierten Tisch begleitet, gestern Abend währe es jetzt nicht nötig gewesen einen Tisch zu reservieren. Im vordern Teil des Restaurante war es recht gut besucht, wir sassen im hinteren Teil und es war überraschend ruhig und wir konnten gut miteinander kommunizieren. Wir bestellten verschieden Salate, Pizzas und Pasta. Das Essen war sehr gut und wurde zügig und gekonnt serviert. Das Tiramisu rundete den gelungenen Abend ab und als Überraschung wurde uns noch vom Patron ein Grappa zum Café offeriert. GracieWir kommen wieder.R.R."
