"Mid-summer's night in Basel, we passed the fountain of Tingeley and sat ourselves down at the lovely terrace of Kunsthalle .. friendly through at times slightly erratic service, and a good choice of traitional food. We had the artichoke, gaspacho and steak tartare - all good, although the gaspacho was not cold enough and slightly too starchy to my taste. Nice wines (gruene veltliner sold out, but Espesses chasselas was a good replacement) and a reasonable bill (CHF152 for two pastis, 5dl wine, one gaspacho, one artichoke and a generous helping of steak tartare with ample toast.) And then it had finally become dark, at 23:00 hrs ..."

"Typical sports bar atmosphere. Nice staff and really fair prices (large beer 6.30 CHF small one 3.90 CHF, sandwich snack around 7 CHF) best place to watch football in town if you don't need it fancy."

"While they often have some vegan articles (but unfortunately not consistent), you need to ask about them. Didn't have the chance to try the Dabawalas, they haven't seen anywhere else in Switzerland, so this could be an experience. Updated by previous review on 2020-07-22"

"Stopped here for lunch while exploring Basel, my partner had a Pizza and it was huge and tasty, I had a Bern Toast (Cheese,Ham etc. on Toast) which came with a lovely salad on a large plate. Prices were in-line with most other places we visited, however the food was presented nicely, it tasted a good and it was a large filling portion for the price. Service was also good, menu is in German although it's not difficult to take a guess what most dishes are - pizza, toast, sandwiches etc."

"Very kind staff and Turkish dishes with fresh and good ingredients. The only problem of course is the high price, but at the base it is really impossible to eat out at reasonable prices. we were here almost every night, given the proximity to the hotel and the sympathy of the managers, cooks and waiters."
