"Dropped in for a coffee, was tempted by the delicious looking sweet treats. Had a cream tea, an almond cookie and a blackcurrant cheesecake. My word it was all so good. Very reasonable too and very friendly staff , nothing too much trouble. Would highly...recommend and will go back !!"

"If this was our first time there wouldn 't be a second What was going on I don 't know poor service No butter for the bread until we asked Water did not turn up Clearing the starter plates before one of us had finished Asking us to pay at the bar because it is 'easier ' for the staff The food has been better in the past I had The Pigs smoked gammon hock with braised beans and garden kale 27 pounds The ham was tasteless, the beans OK and I am still searching for the garden kale Lets hope it is better next time"

"What a little jewel. we visited here while we were gone and had a walk through the city. we ordered a ham and cheese toastie, sausage and speck sandwich and some chips were all amazing, really good quality products. the staff is very friendly and polite. I would recommend this caffe."

"Went 2 nights on the trot. Unfortunately it was the same menu on both nights. Food portions are very good (too much for us) good quality is very good. A couple of specials on both nights. We had starters mains both very good. The only downside is the service. On both nights we waited almost 40minutes for our starters. The mains came a little quicker."

"We booked a table and we were seated in the bar. It is for sure more of a pub than a restaurant but the food was really nice and good value. The mushrooms on toast were amazing. Two of us had the steak and guiness...pie which was also lovely. Would not hesitate in returning or recommending."

"Walked to shops to buy a Sunday paper saw the sign that Merchants were open for Sunday lunch.Glad that on impulse I decide to treat myself, enjoyed hugh portion of roast pork ,Yorkshire pudding, potatoes and a very good selection of veg.Very friendly helpful service, reasonably priced , I even indulged in a chocolate mousse, siesta time now!!"
