"The previous review was accurate and provided good instructions to find the place. The house is beautiful and interesting. The Oyaki was a small bread with vegetables or seaweed, and it is a local specialty. I love it! They also served us their homemade tofu, without season, so we could appreciate the character and taste of the tofu. On the lunch set for the day one of the articles was called “Unwinding Egg”. When ordering, I tried to make it clear that I am vegan and did not want an egg, and there was no egg in the set I was served."

"We had the Nami-Hide Gozen Set, which is limited to 10 per day. Some of the dishes were quite unique, such as peanut tofu, a cucumber and fog sauce and kiwi chicks, but it was absolutely delicious. The resturant itself is located in a very sweet Traditonal house in a cute rural city. And the owners were incredibly friendly to chat with us and explain all the dishes. It turned out that one of them studied in Britain, so English could be quite good and understood veganism. Updated by previous review on 2021-09-13"

"I had the mushroom Udon noodles and they were delicious. The place is surrounded by trees, the owners speak english and are really sweet. They had around 5 veg options. Highly recommended!!!"

"We asked for the vegan menu, which they brought promptly. The servers were a little quirky—in a good way. It was really cheap, and we got free drinks for downloading their app. I had soy meat with cashews. It was very good except for the soy meat, which I had a hard time getting down, honestly. I would go back but definitely would only order a vegan dish without soy meat. I also got a free dessert with a birthday coupon from the app. Dessert was vegetarian but not vegan. "We read the mixed reviews about this place and decided to go there as there was no other choice we had already been to another fantastic restaurant for lunch in Nara, however it was a Sunday and that restaurant was closed for dinner. We didn't find it too hard to find down a bit of a backstreet, walked in and the first thing that hit me was that it was just as cold inside as it was outside! The lady inside welcomed us in and told us to choose a table we had our pick as there was no one else in the restaurant. She did move the heater over so it was directed at our table, but it was still really cold. Also the next thing that was terrible was the deathly silence.. no music or any backgound sounds other than the occasional kitchen prep sound when she was preparing our meals. We were given a menu and I asked the lady what was vegan she said the back of the menu was vegan no dairy or eggs and the front was vego. My boyfriend ordered off the front as he is not vegetarian and I ordered off the back which is vegan. We ordered samosa's, I had a curry with rice and he ordered a pasta dish. All meals were just okay. Not bad, not good.. and the somosas were okay but a little oily and definitely needed a dipping sauce. The silence was probably the part that got to me the most and the ambience really put me off. I wanted to eat and get out of there pretty quickly! The lady could speak a little English and brought a card out not make sure we didn't have any allergies. Overall the meal was okay but I definitely wouldn't go back unless we had no choice."
