"Nice venue, friendly staff and affordable and very tasty Japanese. Loved the wagyu beef with their sauce. No view of water. Decor is typical of low key Asian restaurant. Recommend."

"As luck would have it my all time favourite Wednesday off from work this week involved amazing food. After a superb breakfast at THE BEACH SHED followed by a large walk up Long Reef headland and back I was asked if I would like to review a WOK ON INN venue. Last week WOK ON INN opened a new store in Zetland and the fantastic peeps offered to shout me lunch at any store so I could check it all out, and not one to shy away from food, off I plodded, the plodding part was amazing, caught the ferry from Manly to the city in the sun so I could feast at their Rocks venue and then ferry back."

"It's true, it's one of the best, but also pricy. You can get a private Japanese style room for extra. Though the whole restaurant always feels quite elegant, stylish and relaxed. Perfect for a couples dinner.Previously I've tried the pink salt rock wagyu yakiniku which is delicious and a must as I haven't seen this on the menu anywhere else. Tonight we had the deluxe sashimi, all the seafood was delicious except for one, we had as much trouble eating it as the waitress pronouncing it in English (quite charming and I appreciate her effort). The scallops were the top pick off of the sashimi plate. We also had the marinated grilled COD, quite a strong & heavy taste, you can tell it was well prepared, just not to our taste. The staff are mostly Japanese and some of the patrons too. For me this is a good sign for good Japanese food. The restaurant has been around for years and it still remains popular for good reason.Reason why I am only giving it 4 stars is because I think this restaurant is excellent so I am being extra picky. We asked for the desert menu and were bought the bill instead, we insisted on the desert menu (only 6 items); we ordered one item and were told it's not available and were once again bought the bill. I took it as a sign to leave. But why not tell us at the start what is not available (you only have 6 items available anyways), and why not give us a second chance to order a desert... strange.I will be back because I really enjoy the atmosphere and food. But I feel for the price and the small quibbles we have experienced, I can not give it a perfect score."

"Create your own bowl! There are many possibilities, starting with the base, you can go brown rice, pasta, tofu and mushrooms or green salad, then choose a protein, pork, beef, chicken ... then many vegetables are included, edamame beans, pumpkin , Corn, Brussels sprouted, then finally a cucumber and a sauce ... my was almost all vegetables, except for some pork. I felt healthy afterwards until I'm in a second court of ... Japanese fried chicken, delicious. Overall, this restaurant is fun, healthy and delicious"

"The restaurant was very quiet so we were given a table on the narrow balcony. The food was fine but the fried rice was excessively expensive. It was supposed to be crab, but it was changed to prawn for the same price. The waiter was French and had not been working there very long, so whilst he was very pleasant, he wasn't the most efficient or informative. We would probably go again when next staying in the Rocks, but wouldn't make a special effort to go there. The atmosphere wasn't very inviting inside the restaurant."

"Awesome dumplings, i had veg dumplings though they have only one in veg but still worth trying and baked mushroom tofu dish is super yummy. They are quick in serving, quiet good customer service for both in house our take away orders. My friends had some lamb buns and they like it too. For all veggies I must say, go for it if you are a dumplings fan.<br> Cheers!!!"

"Please do yourself a favour and do not get butter chicken and rice from here. I got it and I had severe food poisoning, with a fever and chills. The food must have not been kept at an optimal temperature and therefore encouraged bacteria growth. I have been sick for the past few days and it’s still going and the only thing I can account it to is my meal here."

"Wild Ginger, located in a heritage building in the heart of the rocks, next to Cadman's cottage and right opposite the Overseas Passenger Terminal. Perfect for a date, casual dinner or even a large party with friends or colleagues. There's a lot of different areas, bar tables and also some outdoor seating.<br> Thai food with a sprinkling of native Australian ingredients. With some new Thai entrees that we haven't experienced before. Classified as 'modern thai dining', it's certainly worth a visit. We were in a group so got a special selection of meals.<br> <br> Starting with some tasty oysters with Thai flavours to whet the appetite. Then on to a mix of tasty small plates including a chicken and crab roll wrapped in a tofu sheet and plum sauce, as well as a betel leaf filled with peanuts and coconut relish, snowy mountain trout and flying fish roe and a chilli kick. <br> <br> The rolling mains for the table included a firey prawn thai salad with a good balance of flavours, spicy and fresh. Thai stir fried mushrooms - my favourite (shiitake, enoki, oyster mushrooms with garlic and oyster sauce) and a flavoursome green curry chicken with a good amount of spice and not too much coconut cream/milk. The deep fried pork belly was very nice. We then had a shared dessert if black sticky rice and tapioca pudding as well as some mango - the group polished this one off super fast! <br> In terms of drinks, there's a big selection of white or Red Wine, a range of cocktails, including a tom yum vodka cocktail and also tried an interesting lemongrass spritzer as well as an Apple Martini with Thai Rum at the end of the night. <br> Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. <br><br><a href="https://www.zomato.com/spoonback?u=http%3A%2F%2Faroundtheclockfoodie.com&amp;r=28949778&amp;to=33945504&amp;k=1cc2b4c33c55996c513c905d13689d99" target="_blank"><span class="left red-text">aroundtheclockfoodie.com</span><span class="grey-text left ml5" data-icon="ŧ"></span></a>"

"What can one expect from the Shangri la other than excellence. This goes for the coffee as well as their super sweets &amp; deserts. Only had time to grab a quick coffee as we rushed out the door though as we had just had a great breakfast upstairs in the Horizon Club earlier"
