"This was my first time having 'real ' ramen as opposed to the cheap ramen we buy in stores. I was impressed by the atmosphere that Ramen Hayatemaru had...small, intimate, and keeping with a Japanese style. I was immediately met by a friendly waitress who seated me at a bar counter like setting. She gave me their menu and helped answer questions I had about menu items. I ordered the soy pork ramen, which was delivered quickly. The ramen soup had a wonderful appearance. Instead of traditional soups spoons, I was given what I can describe as a small soup ladle spoon. While this added to the Japanese aura, it was more difficult to use with the ramen soup. I also ordered a diet Coke with was served in a can with a glass of ice. The ramen was wonderfully tasteful. My only complaints were the costs. Basically, $11 for a bowl of soup and a can of diet Coke. For that kind of price I would have liked to have free refills on the soda and a tad less expensive ramen. It would also be nice to offer a traditional spoon, since trying to eat ramen with the ladle spoon proved difficult to break up the pork slices, eggs, and ramen into spoon size bites. But still, it was a pleasant experience and truly a good bowl of ramen."

"I walked in here because it was the best place to go close, and I was very happy. I got the bonzai burrito with white rice and tofu, and found that adding pico and much extra teriyaki sauce there was a better taste than chipotle safritos that I also like, but sometimes is easy to spicy. I loved that my Burrito was satisfied, great and tasteful, without being overwhelming. I will definitely eat with this or other Wahoos in the future."

"Wow! Delicious. Fast service at the non-rush afternoon time we visited. “3 flames” spicy level was handled well by Chinese-American mouths. Great side dishes and barley tea. We ordered two dishes, and it fed three people, including side dishes. The combo was kimchi soup and beef bulgogi; larger soup was a short rib, cold-noodle soup, warm and fairly salty. The meat fell off the bone, but we probably will lean toward combo orders in the future.Great presentation! After tax/etc came to $50 bill for all items pictured below."

"I got a good portion of food but the "carne asada" tasted weird. It was as if someone seasoned it with sugar instead of salt or something. Will definitely pass on the "carne asada" next time and just get chicken"

"Very good food. Big restaurant with many seatings. The young man was very nice. I got pad ke mow with tofu, that was the best!!!! Very spicy though. Spring rolls were delicious. Definitely will come back. : I hope the owner could answer!"

"Fantastic. Sheer joy! Go for the walnut shrimp, salt and pepper shrimp, Chinese broccoli, mint beef, and, above all, fried tofu. Lunch special comes with an appetizer soup and a desert soup. 100% must go if you are in Torrance."
