"Our local friend suggested it and it was a perfect day for pho, as it's winter in Montréal. We sat in the front where we could watch traffic go by, btw the parking is in the back if you go or street parking. Staff was nice and gave us some product suggestions, like their fried ice cream for dessert or fried wontons for an appetizer, but we stuck to the staples. The spring rolls were really good, the cold rolls were fresh, but the sad chicken would have been sliced better, their peanut sauce was decent, but could have used some crushed but garnish or texture. Pho's arrived and the broth was nice, just a nice balanced clear broth with meats for the pho specials. For the price we paid, it was good bang for the dollar, would have lived some braised oxtail In it though, alas they didn't offer it. My friend always got the special spicy beef soup with braised beef, and it tasted like a tom yum paste with some curry/satay paste combined. Overall solid and quick pho, if you don't want to break the bank."

"I've always had my food delivered from Mak Mak and haven't actually been to the place. I'm a Thai food lover and lived in Thailand for a few months, so I know what typical tastes like, and this isn't exactly it (I was a bit disappointed the first time I ordered because the name of the restaurant is super Thai)! Although the food isn't very typical, it's good, and prices are good too. I will likely order again. If you're a new customer, I wouldn't hesitate to try it."

"It wasn't expensive so that saves it, and you can bring your own wine. For us it was Two enjoyed it and the other two just wanted something else. There is always someone there so i guess it is good for some and not...so for others. I think everyone should at least try a place once and take critics' as that .. critiques. The servers barely spoken English (or French) .. seems that the ONE who did was everywhere, helping."

"We had such a wonderful experience the first day we were here. The food was good and the staff was friendly and attentive, so we decided to go back the next day. Unfortunately, we did not receive the same service the next day. In contrast to our initial experience, someone sat us at the table without explaining the specials. Another came about 5 minutes later, without greeting or introduction and asked us if we were ready to order. Our drinks and meals arrived at the same time. No one checked to see how our meal was going. We could not get out of there fast enough. I’m not sure what made the difference between the first and second day (we did arrive about an hour later in the second day) but we did not feel welcome. The food was good on both days, it was just the service that was sub-par on the second day. I hope no one else gets this experience."

"My wife and I had dinner here last night. Despite not booking they had a table for us. Service was quick and food was good. I had spring roll and chicken chow mein. Only downside was after paying the bill the waitress returned to advise that the tip should have been minimum 15%. Coming from Scotland not used to this 'culture'. So would recommend as long as you're aware of this unwritten rule."

"Nicely surprised! On fire, good service. beautiful cocktail selection. cake meat must be misunderstood. a good place to take omnivores or not. I loved the fake shrimp in the spring rolls. also loved green cari. The thai pad is, in my opinion, a little too tomated, but still good. I'm going back there for sure, planning a good budget."
