"Our group has come to the Royal on the water for many years, the last time in March. As we all know, a lot has happened in the hospitality industry since March. At the Royal, regular employees seem to have been replaced by very young, almost work experience people. In this way the administration was forced due to the Covid pandemic, but it certainly leads to an unusual lunch. The work that paid for what was laborious and confusing at the end of the meal. Not as pleasant an experience as in the past. Food quality also slipped a bit."

"I took my partner and 3 young children to the cafe on Mothers day and it was the best meal we have had in a long time. The PANCAKES (served with mixed berries, cream and maple syrup) were delicious the girls wont more..... (they are very fussy) My partner had the INFINITY BREAKFAST (eggs of your choice, bacon, hash brown, sausage, beans, mushroom and grilled tomato) it was delicious, she was very happy. EGGS BENEDICT (served on ciabatta toast) and it was the best eggs ive had in a very long time. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this CAFE"

"Decided to eat there as staying at the Goodearth Hotel. We was reminded of kitchen closure time (9pm) so sat down at 7.30pm.... main meal arrived before we finished the starters and as people left they were packing away tables around us. Food was ok...and staff friendly but wouldn't go there again."

"The BEST steak sandwich I've eaten in years. Good tender steak cooked to perfection with NO fat or gristle. So you could bite into it without having to worry about any surprises. The generous fillings complemented the steak."

"Went in this morning under a Groupon with four people for champagne and two tasting platters. We were seated and then not seen to for about five or six minutes - typical Perth lax service so didn't think much of it.Finally a waitress came over with a bottle of red and offered to start pouring. We advised her it was meant to be champagne to which she offhandedly commented they didn't have any champagne. We advised of the offer and that it had been booked about a month before. She half-heartedly said she'd go check with the manager. We could hear the manager simply say they hadn't ordered any. Waitress comes back and repeats this and says we have a choice of red or whiskey.NOT GOOD ENOUGH.I know Perth service pretty much sucks but this was a level of CONTEMPT for customers I have never experienced before. We left and went to the Kinky Lizard down the road instead - GREAT service, fantastic food and really good prices.We will NEVER go back to this...

"The food and coffee here is amazing. It doesn't look out from the front but I cannot recommend highly enough. Had the salmon roll and the bread is some of the best I've ever had. The person next to us had a more substantial meal and it also looked great, we will be back to try more. Staff are very professional and prices reasonable. Toby's estate coffee made well too."
