"I read the reviews of Hhog HHeaven BBQ on line. Other than the one (overly rude Mi mi) review, all the reviews were highly favorable \n nBeing from Colorado \u0026 traveling most weeks, nothing beats Louisiana BBQ \n nI arrived to Shreveport late afternoon, arrived to my hotel \u0026 immediately phoned Hhog HHeaven to make sure I could get some of their food before they closed. The owner stated he was already closed. I explained I came from Colorado \u0026 had read the reviews \u0026 was excited to try his food. He was super kind, and stated, “I’ll fix you up! Just tap on the door when you arrive \u0026 I’ll make sure you get some of my BBQ.” He stayed just for me. That’s service \n nSo I did just that. I sped over there as to not delay him from his evening. \n nUpon arriving, Mr. Kenneth introduced himself, big Ol’ smile \u0026 a awesome fist bump \n nAfter explaining what was left for the day, Mr. Kenneth brought me a full slice of brisket to try, along w/ his homemade Louisiana BBQ sauce HOLY MOLY! The meat just melted in my mouth. Mr. Kenneth \u0026 I got to visiting as he was preparing my meal. 36 years married, formal Navy thank you for your service, sir! ? \nThen Mr. Kenneth brought me a rib sample, with more sauce. The rib just fell off the bone, the flavor absolutely outstanding \u0026 so delicious!!! As we visited more, Mr. Kenneth told me he prepares full Thanksgiving meals for catering \u0026 for order: smoked turkeys, smoked hams, etc. with all the sides, (sounded so delicious) as Mr. Kenneth explained all the ingredients \n nAs he was about to ring me up, another customer entered. Mr. Kenneth spoke so kindly to the man, explained what was left for availability meat wise. Then, kindly explained that he was already closed, but stated he was happy to get him whatever he had left. Now, yet another wonderful customer service example \n nI had for my take out: brisket, ribs, smoked sausage, Mac \u0026 cheese \u0026 beans. I explained the brisket \u0026 ribs prior. Wow! My to go order with these selections \u0026 Mr. Kenneth’s offerings, was just as wonderful as the gracious samples of decadent smoked meats he graciously offered. What restaurant does that??? Seriously \n nThe smoked sausage was so juicy \u0026 the flavor was exquisite! The beans were a zesty, yet sweet in the combo concoction with another small slice of brisket on top. Class \u0026 presentation \n nCompletely made with love of creation of flavor \u0026 an eating experience to live, a life time in my memories. The Mac \u0026 cheese, down right cheesy \u0026 full of flavor! This is literally the best BBQ!! Mr. Kenneth is a kind, thoughtful \u0026 unique human. Thank you Mr. Kenneth \n nI’ve been telling everyone in Shreveport to come to this restaurant. I know when I come back, I’m going straight here!! \n nHappy Thanksgiving Mr. Kenneth \u0026 team \n nI love that you allowed me to give you a hug as I left. I’m coming back every time I come to Shreveport! \n nThank you sir."

"The taste of the food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I guess pasta, sauce and sausage are homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly with ice in the shape of a juice glass. When the waitress noticed that I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another one, but without ice. What I got was an 8 ounce glass of milk with a dash of Kahlua in it. No way to impress. I just wanted a good drink."

"So your soup is O.K. I would say for sure not worth $9.76 for literally 16 OZ just saying.(I would love to know your margins on soup, I know they must be impressive that's why I gave the two stars) If anybody is looking for a nice soup place for those rainy days....I suggest can soup?"

"AMAZING! The food is amazing the atmosphere is even better. Parking lot to side of the building there are games for families and friends to play and hangout! Can never go wrong with a classic dog and onion rings with a side of their amazing rosemary and garlic fries!! DELICIOUS! They do have some weird hours so make sure they are open before you come this way. Update : Went back again we got the classic dog with ketchup and grilled onions, Chicago dog, and rosemary and garlic fries one with light garlic other with heavy garlic. They are very accommodating with request and changes. All the workers checked on us as well was helpful and this a very laid back atmosphere. Must go but check their hours or their Facebook website first before going."
