"They ask whether you are dairy free by preference or due to allergy... I felt safer saying it was an allergy which felt weird but I didn't want cross contamination with meats and cheeses! Also note that not everyone is aware of what does and does not have dairy (I was offered pesto sauce, but asked a few others behind the counter to discover it contains dairy, like I suspected). No harm no foul, but do be aware. Pizza itself was super tasty. It was a good change of pace from my usual vegan pizza at The Pie. Really love their super thin crust at Malawis! This was a work lunch, and the gluten free people were as pleased as the standard omnis who were as pleased as me."

"Shout to Chloe? We were a party of 11 and she didn't miss a beat. We even had a spilled drink and she was there to help us clean it up and get a refill. The groundless frits came hot with a lot of fry sauce to go with them. My daughter and I shared a smokehouse castle with an impossible patty. Chloe put the order on two plates with the additional meat toppings on the side. The Jalapenos were zesty. The California Wrap is no longer on the menu, but it was also a favorite of the table. Avocados, turkeys, cheese, onions, tomatoes... Rolled in a spinach pack. The secret menu meets yum. That was a great place to eat for such a big group."

"This place needs to be cleaned down, its very dirty, sticky tables, Plus the employees need to wear headnets if preparing food. Plus the cashier kid with his hair down, that you can't even see his eyes, really needs one, he may not be cooking but he's really close to where it's being made. Plus I say it needs more of a welcoming staff. We stopped in today for birria, we saw they pulled out a pot from back fridge, and we asked your reheating it from days ago, gross. We don't want to eat something that's not made during the day."

"Communal has been on a long road of up, up, ups. The latest up is as good or better than it ever has been. Chef Adam has done a great, creative job with the menu and the portion sizes for the price are amazing IMO. The FOH manager, Devin, is also doing a great job of maintaining that friendly vibe that communal was built on. Good job folks, proud and lucky to be your neighbor!"
