"We went to Colosseo for dinner tonight for my birthday and it was wonderful! The hostess quickly and efficiently checked our vaccine cards assuring us that all staff is fully vaccinated. Our wine/beer arrived in a timely manner and our pizza did as well. It...was hot and fresh. The taste was superb, the toppings more than generous. I was even given a slice of the most amazing tiramisu for my birthday. We enjoyed every minute and for sure we will be back sooner rather than later."

"The Paradise Restaurant (662 Leila Avenue 204-338-4659) has not changed since I was last there before I moved out of the neighbourhood ten years ago. The same framed poster pictures of pasta are still on the entranceway walls along with the same dowdy décor throughout the restaurant. The restaurant on Leila was built in 1983 and it's like a walk back in time when you enter but it's looking tired and it's time to renovate. Little has changed including the food. Thankfully the food is still good even if the service and the ambience is unremarkable. We had all ordered drinks and were enjoying them when two baskets of breadsticks were brought to our table piping hot from the oven. They were so good we couldn't just stop at one. The six of us all asked for separate bills but the waitress assured us she'd sort it all out later. My friend and I had the same dish, veal parmigiana, and we both agreed it was very good. It was steaming hot, tender and the pasta accompanying it was smothered in a thick tomato based sauce. Very good. The others in our group ordered various dishes from eggplant to seafood and they all agreed their food choices were very good. The waitress was attentive through most of the meal the meal but towards the end she was bordering on rudeness. We weren't ready to leave the restaurant at 8:40pm since our reservation had been made for 7:00pm and we didn't order right away but the waitress came to our table and announced that we had to pay up. One of our members asked if she wanted to go home and she replied, "yes." To pay, we had to get up from our table to go to the cash register at the front door and then back again to the table to finish our conversations and our drinks. We figured the restaurant didn't have a portable debit/credit card machine but that's what we used when we got to the front door, no cords attached. One of our friends uses a walker so it would have been so much more convenient had the waitress just brought the machine to the table like they do in most restaurants nowadays. We all felt rushed and suddenly unwelcome as we sat there in an almost empty restaurant. There was only one other couple in the whole place besides the six of us when we left. For a Friday night the place was not busy and there was only one waitress in the restaurant area. The evening was terrific but the ending seemed like they just wanted to rush us out so they could close up early. Their hours on Fridays are from 11:00am to 11:00pm so what was the rush? It's not like there was a line up to get in or that we were loud and disturbing other patrons. There really weren't any. I wonder if the last couple felt the same way as we did? On leaving, the owner thanked us for coming as we walked out the door. That would have been a nice touch had we felt it was a sincere thank you, farewell and come back again. It's been over ten years since I was there last and it will likely be another ten before I return. However, if you ignore the old décor that's badly in need of a change, the borderline rudeness of the waitress, and the "exit hustle," the food was as good as I remember it from long ago. I'd rate the whole experience 3 stars out of 5."

"I've been going to this restaurant for over 25 years and use to enjoy their food. The quality of the food has gone down considerable since I had returned this time. I usually order a pizza and salad and it would include bread sticks with your meal. I recently have gone back to find out that you no longer get bread sticks with your order but instead they charge you $4 for them. Also you use to get garlic toast with your Ceasar Salad and or Greek Salad but you now get nothing. Most decent Italian Restaurants include garlic toast with their salad especially if you order the full meal size. We had ordered a Ceasar Salad this time and the salad look like the garbage pieces from the Romaine lettuce. It was mostly the white or light green leafy parts. You had to really search for any dark green leafy pieces. Also we had ordered the large size which cost $11 and the size was no bigger than a individual at most other places like Santa Lucia. The salad had about 3 croutons in it and NO cheese for its topping. The pizza I usually order is called their Special which includes salami, pepperoni, ham, tomatoes, mushrooms and green peppers. I think I found only a couple of pepperoni and two pieces of salami with mostly ham. Also when I mentioned to the server about the bread sticks which they no longer offer as complimentary he said that they had just recently stop offering them two months ago. He also said that they were never suppose to be offering these bread sticks before but the servers were giving them out when they should not have been. I find this excuse hard to believe since I have been going there for over 25 years and have always received these complimentary bread sticks. Does it take them 25 years to catch on that the servers are giving out these bread sticks when they should not have been. I DON'T THINK SO. Also most of the servers were family members that work there. Bread sticks cost very little and when you offer your customers them for years then take them away its just NOT good business practice. I am very disappointed in what I found this time and would NEVER RETURN to this place even though it was one of my favorite Italian restaurants. I will be traveling a bit further for now on and go to the Santa Lucia on St. Mary's which in my opinion is far superior to the Paradise Restaurant."

"The pizza is very basic with no extraordinary flavours or toppings. Not really the first choice when you need a pizza fix, but still decent."

"Gondola has been around for years. Once you taste there pizza you will know way. Thin crust with your choice of topping, always flavorful. Price wise Its on the higher side, but worth it to me. When I want a treat and not just something to fill my belly, I get my Gondola Pizza."

"We ordered 2 medium pizzas. Extremely greasy and very little flavour. Would not recommend this location. Main Street and Steinbach location are far better with quality of the pizza."
