"I'm Spanish and I loved it. Tres Gatos is a lovely spot for friends or couples looking for good food, interesting wines, and a beautiful patio, which is best enjoyed during the magic hour. We were five and shared a lot of dishes; the Spanish tortilla (especially the Ali Oli), Albóndigas, chickpea fritters, and patatas bravas were my favourites. The wine selection was short but intriguing, with a few unconventional choices. Drinking Manzanilla from Sanlúcar de Barrameda was something I did not expect to do in Jamaican Plain and I loved it. Prices are fair. Portions have the right size and are carefully presented. The staff was extremely attentive and as friendly as it gets. I even got to joke a bit in Spanish. It gets very busy. Indoor dining was booked out. There's a waiting list for outdoor seating (no reservations) that you can get on talking to the host. At 7 PM on a Saturday it was a 45-min wait for 5 people, but it may be shorter if your party fits in a table for 2-3 people. Full disclosure: While out of Spain, I systematically avoid Spanish restaurants, having been let down too many times. Tres Gatos wasn't the case, even though some dishes were not exactly how a Spaniard may remember them, and I recommend you visit them."
