"We discovered La Chata on our way to the Choco Museo. We had time for breakfast and chose the wonderful fruit plate with yogurt and granola. They serve cinnamon coffee which is a rare find. We returned this last Sunday for dessert as we had...been to see a musical group that included lunch. Again we were so impressed with food, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed flan and horchata.. so authentic and a rare find on menus. We plan to have a full meal when we return next year. A beautiful view of the waterfront overlooking the Malecon from the 2nd floor"

"Had a great lunch or "Mexican comida corrida" consisting of a choice of two soups, three or four mains, deserts, tortillas and juice of the day, at a very reasonable price (If my memory serves me right, the corrida choices were under 70 pesos). The mains consisted of one pasta, one beef mexican style, and one or two different fish. We had the beef and the fish and they were fresh and very delicious. It's a tiny charming outdoor seating Mexican place on a side street at the marina which means that there is little foot and vehicle traffic and therefore quiet. The employees are pleasant and can assist in English. We highly recommend this restaurant which only serves breakfast and lunch. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and can't wait to try their breakfast."

"Long story short: I could barely walk when I left this place because I ate everything that was placed in front of me.A friend of mine that had lived in Puerto Vallarta recommended this place. And because I trust him, I had to try it.We arrived right on time for our 7:30pm reservation and took a table close to the window. The place is very open and set up around a central patio. Small colorful tables and Huichol art hanging from the walls. There was a singer in the back corner playing the guitar and he had a great voice! It definitely added to the enjoyment of our meal.We ordered two mezcalitos - cocktails made with fruit and mezcal, a liquor that is produced in Mexico and is the cousin of Tequila. We were also presented with two small tostadas that were compliments from the house/chef and they were so full of flavor! The table also received chips and three different types of salsas. For appetizers we ordered the sopers with chorizo, and the cricket tacos! The sopes were so soft and delicious, with plenty of chorizo on top, shredded lettuce, crema, and queso fresco. I loved them so much I ate them immediately. The cricket tacos were also really good! They were served with a small side of avocado and tomatillo salsa and fresh cut limes. The tacos were made with soft house-made tortillas, black beans, queso fresco, and the crunchy and flavorful crickets. The flavor is hard to describe because I've never had them before but I do recommend them. For our entrees we had the duck carnitas and the grilled steak. The duck was deliciously tender and served on top of a sauce and a side of potatoes. The steak was grilled and served with black beans, grilled onions, and tortillas. By now I was already getting full, but we still had dessert to try, and once I saw they had capirotada (a type of bread pudding) it was settled. I needed one!The capirotada came served with a small side of vanilla ice cream that perfectly complimented the bread pudding. It was crunchy, yet soft, and just thinking about it now my mouth begins to water. We also met one of the owners who was amazing. She came to the table and introduced herself and checked in to see how everything was at our table.Go eat here! The food is authentic and delicious, and the service is attentive yet not intrusive. I want to go back!"

"My wife and I went through this restaurant tomorrow and went in and had breakfast, very clean and well maintained. eating was excellent, so we decided to go back to dinner last night, there were 5 of us, they are specialized in steaks., they are made in the barbeque and they were all cooked to perfection, most of us rarely want what is extremely difficult to come here in mexiko. 3 of us had arrachera, 2 of us had a rib eye. the meat was extremely delicate and tasteful. it comes with a baked potato or grilled nopales and beans. we had the baked potato and it was very good. salat is separated and we had the caesar, which was fantastic, had the house special salat, which was covered with strawberries, mushrooms, etc. and she shaved over it. I suggest they try this place. they have Chilean weeping and it was a bit over $200 pesos a bottle."

"The Roasted Chicken was delicious and moist, the side of Macaroni was tasty. Especially impressive was the Frijoles Charros, very flavorful with Cilantro. In the States we would term it Bean Soup! Worth the visit."

"Vale totalmente la pena comer aquí. Sus guisados están deliciosos y además te ofrecen aguas de sabores para acompañar, mismas que también están riquísimas. La tortilla de muy buen sabor. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, sobre todo si te queda cerca Galerías Vallarta, que es donde se encuentra. Además, el precio está excelente."

"Ate a few times for breakfast and the food was consistently mediocre and service was poor. Me and my partner that waiters cater to big groups and repeat customers they know. Twice I have to get up and pour my own coffee... waiter saw me and just ignored me. The yogurt jar is not big and always empty..nobody refilling it."
