"It is a charming little place in the inner city of matthews. friendly and knowledgeable staff and owners - they were so passionate about their cured meat and cheese. I had a delicious glass rosé, (good beer selection also) and we had a delicious wood charcoal plate. I'm so glad they're in my hood!"

"Great Family Restaurant. Jonathan's is in the former Tryon House Restaurant building off of 51 in Matthews. Great meals and they serve breakfast all day long. Great value for the money. They have 2 large non-smoking dining rooms so there's never a wait."

"I took my mother in law here for lunch today. We both got the fried chicken which was freshly fried and still hot, though the crust was a little flavorless. I got fried squash and cabbage for my sides. The squash was fresh and hot, sliced thin and diagonally so the pieces were longer than most other places. The cabbage was also good. My mother in law's salad was especially crisp and fresh, but she didn't care for the green beans, saying they were overcooked."

"GIVE JONATHAN HIS 5th STAR! I’m a Cracker Barrel fanatic, believe me. I’m here at least once a week by myself or with my partner. We’ve had many servers and I can’t really complain about any of them (except maybe one who kind of had an attitude when my food was burnt) But today was the first day when the service was so spectacular I had to ask the name of the server! Jonathan literally brought us a perfect meal without forgetting anything! Food was cooked perfectly and the order, down to my soft bacon, was correct. Usually I have to send it back because it’s too crisp. He brought out extra napkins before I asked, had a water refill ready before we even needed it, checked in many times even AFTER he brought the check. Never in my 20 years of coming to Cracker Barrel has a server checked in after leaving the check. Anyway, Jonathan is just on another level. He didn’t ask for this review either, by the way. I hope the owner sees this. Give that man a raise!"
