"We had breakfast here on high recommendation by a friend, and were happy to try it out. We had Jocoque and Machaca Burritos resp. Chilaquiles Rojos with Eggs Over Easy. The portions were large and tasty, and the service attentive, but he coffee was not as aromatic as coffee afficionados from Portland would prefer."

"We were staying at Velas Resort as guests of friends who owned a timeshare. We stayed 5 days, but it was not until the 4th day that we accidentally found out by way of a request for a mask. The manager asked if we were...staying at the resort. When he was told we were staying in a timeshare, he mentioned that we had an $80 credit at their restaurants or stores. We had not been informed of this and had been dining at other places. So we went to the resort owned La Ribera for breakfast, since it would be free. I do not know what the normal charge is for breakfast here, but all four of us had the buffet. Coffee, juice and water was brought to our table and it was great efficient service. for food we had to grab a plate and go to the buffet where it was encased in glass (due to covid restrictions I guess). We each had to point to an item behind the glass and a chef would dish it up. Return trips were allowed. The choices were good, but the food was not that great. It is an open air restaurant right on the beach, but they had heavy plastic covering the sides so the view was not really a view. I would not pay to have breakfast here."

"We were at noon one day, only six of us and we loved it. I had the tropical scallops and the taste was amazing, the lemonade we order was in a larger glass than other restaurants we were, I also had a...ice cream as dessert and it had a very good taste and good presentation. Prices are very reasonable and meals are large portions. There is a lot of parking around them, and it is in a very good location, if you are lucky, you will find parking right ahead. So, on our last day in Vallarta we all stopped there (a group of 17) for lunch, we thought they would take longer with our orders, but service was great, this time I had the coconut shrimp and was so delicious! I don't know what everyone had, but we were all satisfied with our meals. By the way, there is a chalkboard to keep the kids busy."

"I suggested that we give La Cascada Costa Sur a try for lunch on the way back from down town PV to our condo in Playa Punta Negra. It was very handy as the bus stops at the Costa Sur entrance. We were comfortably seated in the open-side restaurant which resides between the resort's two pools has a ocean view. The back wall of the restaurant was a vertical waterfall grotto. Very well done. I asked the waiter what their special drink of the day was? A kiwi margarita! It was tart tasty. But, it left a scratchy, furry feeling in my throat. I ordered some aqua mineral to wash away that feeling. I ordered the avocado stuffed with shrimp salad. It looked very festive with the green avocado, the coral shrimp, the purple radicchio $169 p. It equaled the same salad that I had at the Girasol Sur. My husband ordered the pork tenderloin steak with a choice of gravy, plum or chimichurri sauce and served with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes $169. He chose the chimichurri sauce. It was attractively presented with a Parmesan crisp garnish. He was very happy with his meal. The pork was very tender the mashed potatoes were creamy. The service was excellent. I would not hesitate to go back to Lacascada for lunch or for dinner. The menu is very reasonable for the setting."
