"My husband and I just returned home to Canada from a 10 day trip to Portugal. we visited Pointe De Lima a day before flying home and were pleasantly surprised by the simpilicity and beauty of the village and very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful pizza lunch we had at Cafe Beira Rio. Our server was a very friendly young man and the red wine, tuna pizza and simple tomato olive oil salad was perfect! later that night we returned to this restaurant to ask them to call us a cab to bring us back to our hotel which was approx a 30 minute drive away and since there were no cabs to be found on the street. The Chef/owner of the cafe was so gracious..he caĺled us a cab and refused to charge us for the cappacinos we had while waiting for the cab to show up. i would recommend this cafe to anyone looking for awesome food, service snd ambience. Chef, we also loved the boxer shorts and aprons..cool! Thanks again for your hospitality.we hope to return soon."

"We had a lovely meal when England played Croatia in the World Cup that evening. The friendly staff set a special table up for us in front of the TV so we could watch the match whilst having dinner . All food is home made . The main dish of the house is called Broinha de Bacalhau, cod baked in a whole loaf of rye bread. Simply delicious and comfort food during England losing the match. The house salad is huge and should be shared with cheese and tuna and lots of salad things. All very fresh. Washed down with a bottle of Vino Verdhe from Porte de Lima. A lovely spot for in and outdoor eating. Very reasonably priced."

"This is not the first time we have had our final holiday meal here. Once again, it did not disappoint. After a selection of starters, we opted for the suckling pig, which was perfect, served with salad and game chips. There was a good choice of desserts, with crepes a favourite. Service was good, the interior of the restaurant traditional, while the garden area outside is being developed and provides aseclduded seating area. Although a drive of around 10 minutes from Ponte de Lima, this restaurant is well worth a visit."
