"I placed an order to go tonight. We were in a bit of a hurry but thought we were safe since there was only one other couple in the restaurant. Received our two burgers after a 22 minute wait... not unreasonable. I checked my son 's burger to make sure it was plain and found bits of cheese (also not a big deal, he wouldn 't have noticed) that seemed to have been a whole slice of cheese, scraped off along with half the burger. I asked if this was the correct portion and the manager came out to tell me it was. I asked if he was sure that a lot of the meat hadn 't just been scraped off with the cheese that was accidentally put on the patty... he said that cheese wasn 't on it, it must have been next to another burger with cheese on the grill... On every side. He did offer to remake it but said it would be the same size and we were pushing our luck to get to our next engagement already so we left disappointed. I would be embarrassed to serve this burger to a customer. ETA: I updated my rating from a 2 to a 1 after the owner responded to my review requesting that I email them to make things right ... but then never responded to my email. I was on the fence but now I won 't be back."

"This restaurant was so disappointing. I've never had such a bad experience. I'm going in, and there's no one in the front, there are two dirty tables. I finally see everyone talking on the back and at some point someone came to my order. Very poor customer service. I've never been to Smashburger and I've never been willing to say I'm not back. At least the burger tasted decent."

"This restaurant offered a different menu called the Special Event Menu because it was Florida State University's Parents' Weekend. The selection was limited and prices higher, which we did not appreciate. Their usual menu was not available, even upon request. If a restaurant is going to offer a limited, pricey menu to its patrons, it should inform those who made reservations of that fact. To find it out upon arrival was unsettling and akward for our group. We were treating everyone and no one really wanted to be spending big bucks on entrees. Almost all of us ended up ordering an appetizer pizza as our meal there only was perhaps one entree choice below $20 and that was for a burger. This is not the type of restaurant that can command such high prices either. If we knew of this pricey, limited menu, we would have made reservations elsewhere."
