"We called in this Witherspoon’s restaurant for lunch and I wished we had gone elsewhere it was horrendous, there were 2 items missing of the one plate and 1 missing of the other !! We all know Witherspoon’s is cheap and cheerful and you get what you pay for ……..but this was bad, not only poor quality food but portion size and presentation . If you cannot get the food right just stick to selling beer !! Someone as taken there eye of the ball in the kitchen."

"Lovely building, spacious and clean. Good menu, we ate garlic mushrooms and gammon and chips, good service and tasty, well cooked food. BUT the evening was spoiled for us by a group of VERY loud males who spent the whole time we were there ‘talking’ so loudly they were practically shouting, interspersed with lots of ‘f’ words, we really couldn’t hear each other speak and it got very wearing. We didn’t bother to stay for dessert, just wanted to get out for some peace. Such a shame as it’s a lovely venue."

"This place does the most amazing carrot cake, with absolutely delicious icing. The salad was fresh and crispy, and the sandwich was so yummy- they actually do pineapple and cheese which I adore."

"Every student raves about Spartacus, I've gone many years without trying it, it was time to change that. Now I want to stress I've been picking up Spartacus products from the Spars and University cafes etc. This is not based on the premise of the building. So ignore any rating for service. Meals: The Welsh one, Turkey Coleslaw, All day breakfast, Sausage cheese chutney to name a few. Pros: The Ciabatta bread on these sandwich is to die for. Completely fresh inside but crispy outside. I'd be extremely shocked if these were bought in frozen and defrosted. The Welsh One: Ham, cheese and coleslaw. Can't fault it, has been nice each time. Sausage, Apple and Chutney: Now in school I had this combo and everyone thought I was an odd ball. So when I saw this on the shelf I had to try it. I'd have to say its quite possibly my favorite sandwich. This is now my standard go to. Cons: The Turkey and coleslaw: It might sound daft but this was a very dry combo to me. If I didn't pick up a drink I don't think I'd have been able to finish this one. The bread was also stale. How I just want to re-stress this was bought from a third party. In this case the little spar. So it's entirely possible they just left it out longer than they should. Price. For a sandwich solo they are quite expensive. Again, this could very well be the third parties hiking the price to make it justifiable, but I for one couldn't afford one of these daily. All in all from what I've tried so far, this is probably the best sandwich maker in town so far."

"Had food here twice with family. We sat in the bar area not restaurant. The food is fab, hot and quick. The staff are great especially the one from Liverpool, didn't get his name. He was exceptionally helpful and friendly."
