"Top notch food and service. Went to the Dundee Rep restaurant twice in a week for lunch over the festive period. First visit was on a Saturday late afternoon and then again on the 22nd Dec. We were very warmly greeted by the staff shown to our table. As starters one of us had hot salmon pate and 2 went for red pepper polenta fritters. Delicious! For mains , turkey with all the trimmings and two of us opted for featherbed of beef. The beef was so tender and fell apart. The turkey was equally delicious. For sweets we had Baileys creme brulee with salted star shaped biscuits, limoncello cheesecake, scottish cheese board ,oatcakes, frozen grapes with juniper and plum jam. The plates were warm for the hot dishes. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and thought it was very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was really warm and friendly with a low background level of music. The staff were friendly, attentive and were happy to chat or share a laugh or two. They, the chef and kitchen staff deserve plaudits for the quality of food and the level of service given and we were happy to leave a tip which reflected the good meal and service.All in all a great time. Thank you to Eve and the staff. Highly recommend going here , it is a local gem."

"We visited Broughty Ferry eight years ago and had a lunch at the Bruach, it persuaded us to move to the area because of the many good restaurants and shops. Bruach has been taken over by the owners of the Barrelman in Dundee and we decided to lunch here after having several good experiences there. Good menu but the fish is usually good in this area so we both had haddock, fish tasted very fresh with good batter, chips and bit greasy, tartar sauce very good and plentiful too, mushy peas a bit dried out. Fish supplied by Perth company not Arbroath but fish was very good. Quality suppliers seem to be used, meat suppliers are Scott’s which we use all the time because of the quality. Good choices on menu, you will get something to your liking. Good wine list at reasonable prices Staff good and very helpful Popular with families at lunch time so quite busy downstairs, we got the last table downstairs but if it had been occupied we would have been dining probably alone upstairs which rather spoils the dining experience."

"Had a lovely lunch, where we got the meal deal which included the halloumi bagel and the soup of the day. The quality of the food was high and the service was really quick. Was a little pricey for a student such as my self...but it is well worth the money. I also told my girlfriend I would leave her for the halloumi bagel and she was not amused."
