"Our visit to the restaurant was quite spontaneous during a short family visit to Montpellier. To be clear the service is good and friendly. The décor dated and tired. Whilst this may be a good example of Kashmiri cuisine by French standards, as someone with...extensive experience of both regularly cooking and eating Kashmiri, I was less than impressed. The only reason I didn't score lower is for the reason that I suspect limits on authentic ingredients may be restrictive. This aside, an onion and garlic base is basic and should be no issue for an experienced chef. Something which escapes the kitchen here. To serve what seemed to be a strawberry jam as a chutney, where it should be tamarind is offensive. Good Kashmiri food does not need to be complicated, but needs to be authentic. The food here is far from authentic. a blast back to 70's Indian food that plays to a inexperienced palate. On the plus side, the nan bread was fresh and tasty. But a Cheese nan? Is this really what is served in Kashmir, or an addition to the menu in order to please local palates?"
