"Decent place for a drink or even dinner. We had the JD burger and the lasagne and both dishes were tasty. No service to the table so you need to go to the bar and order there. Efficient service and tasty food. Nothing fancy but great if that is what you are looking for"

"We decided to go for a Christmas Lunch with friends, without our dogs for a change, and it was such good value for money. Two of us had the nut roast and the others the turkey. The nut roast was the best I have had and I have been a vegetarian for over 25 years. The vegetables were not overcooked and complimented my nut roast as it is the turkey the others had. We also enjoyed the berry crumble with custard. It was packed and you could see why, friendly and helpful staff, attentive service and a hot meal. What more could you ask for!"

"Came in on spec with some old friends from Northampton to grab an evening meal. Food was exceptionally good, hosts accommodating and when it came to coffee diluted drinks, the landlord would not take payment. The restaurant has been going through a transition period but I’m glad to report all things are back to normal, if not improved. Highly recommended local pub restaurant, you won’t be disappointed."

"Excellent, friendly service from the whole family. Kerry was our waiter, but it seems the whole family chip in to help out. Kerry was very efficient and helpful. The food was really nice, traditional pub and Greek food. I’d highly recommend a visit to hear about the history of this ancient hostelry."
