"Advert for the Swan at Wellington appeared in the local paper. Haven't been there for about 4 years, so thought give it a try. Must admit I was surprised on a Wednesday and Friday you can have a carvery for £5. Lots of different vegetables to choose from, two different types of meat and a steak pie to choose from, or you could have all three . Definitely worth a visit."

"Would of been a nice and very reasonably priced meal unfortunately we were made to feel very un welcomed by the lady serving the carvery- I asked if there was any gamon left and was told I should of came earlier if I wanted that…...it says you serve until so if you don’t want me there change your times?"

"We booked a table for Friday night the restaurant was busy but not full. After ordering our drinks we were ready to order which went smoothly. It was then an hour before we received any food by which time we had been to the bar to order more drinks as no one had been to the table to ask. The meals were good and some a little different to what you see elsewhere. I ordered the mixed grill which was substantial but I had been asked how I wanted the steak cooked. I appreciate it was only a small piece of meat but when I found it hidden under the gammon it certainly wasn’t as requested but then as it was so thin it would never be medium rare. The other dishes on our table were all chicken based and were well received. We looked at the desert menu but as we were all quite full nothing on there was tempting enough to encourage us to make room. It’s a good venue but like many others in the industry it appears to be short staffed and those they do have need to have time give the customers the attention they deserve. Finally I don’t really like the fact they are setting tables for breakfast while we are eating our evening meal."
