"Camp Cookhouse is one of the only restaurants in the Elkwater area. The area is well-known for camping and during our visit to the area, there were tons of campers, motorhomes, and similar types of visitors in the area.Camp Cookhouse is owned by a couple and they serve amazing food. I was there in a business trip where we were sort of trying out a new itinerary. They prepared a special menu for our visit but we learned from the locals that all the locals and even hotel guests (where the hotel does have a restaurant) come to eat. The menu was a 3-course family style menu:Apps- rye sourdough, pork rinds, pickled vegetables, whipped ricotta. I learned the whipped ricotta with pork rinds is amazing. Everything was great, and I learned that they pickle their own vegetables and sell it in their general store.Entree- smoked pork shoulder, crushed potatoes and chickpeas, tzatziki, smashed salad (radish, cucumber, tomato, feta, fresh herbs.) The tzatziki was so fresh, you could tell it was freshly made. It paired amazingly well with the smoked pork shoulder.Dessert- brown butter cornbread, maple syrup, peaches, whipped cream, peanuts. Personally I could have done without the peaches, but everything else was great. The cornbread didn't make you feel bloated after dinner either!"

"I love this food truck! Do yourself a favor and order the chicken shawarma. It was out of this worrllldd delicious. The owner, Khaled, is awesome and you can tell he takes pride in his food. He made us shawarma fries and I WAS SHOOK! He makes this green sauce that you cannot find anywhere else and the garlic sauce is on point!"
