"We visited the restaurant around 4: PM on a Friday. Only 2 other single patrons in the place so not busy. As my wife placed our order I looked to chose a table to sit at. They were all dirty so I asked a staff person behind counter to clean one for us. He did so as well as all the others while he was at it. We ordered 3 dishes to share as well as an order of the chicken satays. We also upgraded our rice to coconut at an added cost but were disappointed in the flavour. Our Pad Thai was cold and the vegetables were not fresh. The Sweet Ginger Tofu looked like they opened the package, cubed it, and put in a bowl. It had a bland weak sauce and was almost flavourless. The saving grace for our meal was the yellow curry. It was good but the serving size was so small it suprised us they asked $11.75 per serving. Similiar in size to the Sweet Ginger Tofu. I noticed the staff doing a lot of prepping as we dined. As I observed them put our meal together it seems they were throwing together precooked items and then tossing them in a frypan to reheat. Not the freshness we are accustomed to. All of this is done out front in the restaurant. We were unhappy with our meal and will not be back next time in Calgary."

"Went for date w hubby because we were both craving ramen. Decided to get some appies (special roll tempura). Special roll caterpillar (asparagus, pumpkin, avocado, cucumber, mayo, crunch) had rancid 'crunch ' and was not worth $12. Noodles were overcooked in our ramen. Only one type of cold sake available (but it was very nice). Serving staff were over busy (altho polite) could not keep up with the 12 tables in dining section. Nobody came to address rancid food and still got charged for it. Waited 25 mins for bill that never came. We 've been here for sushi before, had a much better (altho expensive) experience last time."

"Last Saturday, my boyfriend took me out to see the cars. Around the lunchtime, we found a Japanese Restaurant for lunch. The name of the restaurant called Samurai Ramen and Sushi. It’s located at 36 St NE #140, Calgary, which is right across the street from T T Inc. It was very easier for people to find and park their car.<br/ <br/ Environment<br/ <br/ We arrived the Samurai Ramen and Sushi t 12 pm. It was a small Japanese Restaurant. There are many people in the restaurant. Luckily, we found a table fast. Inside the restaurant decorates in the Japanese Style. There were couple Japanese Style Pictures on the Wall. Inside the restaurant was nice and clean.<br/ <br/ Service<br/ <br/ After we sat down, the server brought tea to the table. Our server was a Japanese Lady. She was very nice and friendly. She offered us useful suggestions to order the food.<br/ <br/ Food Prices<br/ <br/ Based on the server’s suggestion, we have ordered TAKOYAKI (5PCS), SUSHI PIZZA, TONKOTSU RAMEN, SAMURAI SPECIAL ROLL, MOTOYAKI (2PC). The food came out the kitchen one by one. They were all well cooked and tasty. First dish was two pieces MOTOYAKI (2PC). It made by Mushroom, scallop, shrimp, and seaweed baked with Japanese mayonnaise. It costs us $6.00, which is a little bit pricey. Next, TAKOYAKI balls, Deep fried battered balls containing octopus, topped with fish flakes and mayo. One order comes with five pieces. It’s $7.00. SUSHI PIZZA was $10.00 Fresh, raw salmon, avocado, masago, and mayo on a tempura rice patty. TONKOTSU RAMEN was $13.50 a rich, salt-based pork stock topped with roasted pork, seaweed, bean sprouts, egg, and green onions. SAMURAI SPECIAL ROLL was Prawn tempura, salmon tempura, and avocado inside, topped with seared tuna. $14.50. In total, we spent $51.00. <br/ <br/ We had a great experience eating Samurai Ramen and Sushi. It was our first time having such great sushi in Calgary. Even though it was a little bit expensive and pricey, the taste of the food was totally worth the price. We love it. Highly recommend people to some samurai Ramen and Sushi restaurant."

"Food here is quite nice, we have had the pork bely bbq, squid and pork bbq and kimchi stew. All three of those are absolutely delicious. The ambiance is very nice and authentic. This is a hole in the wall with very nice food and you should expect to go out smelling of food. Nice to share with friends and for informal date. Only downside is that it is a bit pricy."
