"We had booked a session to take children from our school to learn all about Japanese cuisine. From the moment we confirmed the booking Emma and her team could not have been more attentive ensuring everyone's specific needs, allergies, dietary requirements etc. were met with minimal fuss. The whole session from beginning to end was well thought out with every member of staff interacting, smiling and helping the children to make food, learn about culture in cuisine, create our own smoothies and taste different ingredients. As staff, we were absolutely blown away and thrilled at the response of the children and just how much effort had gone into the morning- our children have not stopped raving about it and cannot wait to bring their families too. 5 stars is not enough- a HUGE thank you to Emma and the Team!"

"York gem. Pleasantly surprised, the food and tea were both good. Spacious inside and easy to get a table (though we went late in the afternoon). Tables and chairs are clean, and frequently cleaned. Service is good, no waiting around and very prompt and attentive. Worth a visit and recommend."

"Absolutely loved this quiet little tea house just around the corner from the Minister just up from the main shops; an ideal location. Most options were vegan on the mains menu, nearly all drinks could be made vegan most of the cakes on the daily cakes board were also vegan...so many options it was hard to choose! I got the tofu teriyaki mayo donburi bowl (with miso soup of course! which was super tasty a really good size portion, then I couldn't resist a vegan matcha blondie, which was yummy, although I think you'd have to be a bit of a matcha addict like me to appreciate it. Will definitely be going again. Edit (04/02/22 Was super excited to hear they were doing a Veganuary 3 course set menu it did not disappoint! For a very fair £20, we had the most delicious traditional Japanese food unlike anything else I've ever tasted. For mains I had the Umami spaghetti; was better than any Italian pasta I've ever had! And for dessert the matcha zenzai, which was so bizarre to me, but really nice (though as in my previous review, I'm just a teeny bit biased towards matcha things! Would definitely recommend actually they're running the Veganuary menu into March so still plenty of time to try it! Updated from previous review on 2021-12-09"

"An upstairs room that's clean and bright. As it was a hot evening, I didn't order bibimbap (my favourite Korean dish). We decided to share some crispy fried chicken and spicy squid with rice. The fried chicken was as described but it reminded me of chicken McNuggets. Our rice was brought and waited for our squid. It took a while to catch a server's eye to enquire if they had forgotten our squid. They had. We asked for some fresh, warm rice with the squid. It was okay but not worth the wait (or the money). I have read reviews criticising the prices here, so I won't join the pile-on. However, whilst I applaud the entrepreneurial zeal in opening a Korean restaurant in York, it's a very competitive city and you need to be setting high standards to build a sustainable customer base of people who come back regularly. I'm not sure that Oshibi is delivering the goods. In summary, a disappointing evening out and not too satisfactory."

"Visited this restaurant on the first day of the Eat out to Help out campaign. I think the restaurant was a little surprised at the demand and the speed of the service was perhaps not as they would want it to be, however the friendliness of the staff more than made up or it. The food was excellent in all aspects, of particular note were the salt and pepper spare ribs. It should be noted that the restaurant has recently changed name to IPFU Sushi"
