"Riozen is a very good restaurant and worth your consideration. I lived in Japan for 5 years as a working exchange student and this resto is one of the closest you can get to capture the authentic taste and food of a down town Izakaya in Tokyo. The Japanese Chief is always there supervising the staff and their dishes are not only a wide variety but also very close to taste of the resto bars in Japan. In fact The very fact that the restaurant is patronised by more Japanese customers than local filipinos shows that the restaurant is authentic. <br>

I respectfully disagree with the other reviews. There was one reviewer comparing the prices of Dampa with Riozen, thats unfair as Japanese restaurants usually command a premium because of the craft involved in cooking Japanese dishes. There is no Japanese restaurant out there that have the same seafood prices as Dampa (which is basically a market place). A cook in Dampa cannot compared to a authentic Japanese Chief in skill and their dishes have a difference in taste."

"Seriously the best futomaki I have tried, thus far. It's so good that I'm willing to go all the way to Little Tokyo to eat that dish.<br>

Their US Beef Sirloin steak is good too.<br>

A definite plus is their staff are amazingly warm and kind. :) <br>

"Restaurant specializing in Japanese style eel. So far it the best eel place I've been around Makati. Quality is superb for all the food including the tofu. Its the few legit japanese place where japanese expats go to for lunch. It is pricey but understable as ingredients they use are fresh."

"Ambiente: eating here was relaxed thanks to the quiet, Japanese television (2 sets) and the bare seating experience. there were also Japanese customers! the entire industry was almost full, including sitting outside food: california maki was only six pieces, but they were all big, so the number irrelevant. each piece was delicious with creamy mayo and sweet mango. the mango at the end was the best due to the larger size potato yaki was extremely buttery. smell was not so appetizing and regarding textur, I felt that it could have been better grilled overall price is very expensive also for the dinner bentos service: they listen, welcome customers in nihonggo was really nice!
