"The young man who took my order was so rude. He acted like every second spent talking to me was a waste of his time, and didn’t listen properly when I told him what size drink I wanted. When he asked me if I wanted it to go I took LITERALLY THREE SECONDS TO MAKE A DECISION, which was apparently way too long for his attention span because he repeated himself again in a louder and more annoyed voice after literally three seconds because I hadn’t decided yet. It’s little things like that… just treating people like they’re a waste of your time… that can make a huge difference for better or worse in someone’s day. I have gone here for years, and it is my favorite coffee shop. I’ve never had a problem with the service before, usually everyone is so warm and friendly… and that’s the reason I keep going back, not the coffee. It was just so out of place for me to be treated like this at Hitherto that I wanted to call attention to it. I’m begging the young man who treated me like this to SLOW DOWN. I get that working at such a fast pace can be stressful and make everything seem rushed, but I would rather have to wait an extra 5 minutes for my coffee than be treated like a waste of your time. I’m not trying to step on anyone’s toes, I just don’t want to be treated like that again…. And if this is how I was treated every time I went in, I wouldn’t go back no matter how good the food or coffee was."
