"Well where do I start with my review of the Cochin restaurant? Firstly having never dined there before we were not sure what to expect. We had only read reviews on TripAdvisor and Google which had been very complemently about the food and service so we wanted to give it a try. We had a table booked for 2 at 8.30, and we were met at the door and shown to our table by the window by a very pleasant waiter. He prompty brought over our menus, and we began to peruse through. The menu had a extensive selection of fish dishes which pleased me as I love fish, so I felt spoilt for choice as my expectations grew. The waiter was very attentive and informal and very knowledgeable about the dishes on their menu, and was happy to answer any questions we had. I finally settled on the fishermans soup for starter. Sadly this was a big let down! Very watery, no depth of flavour and next to no fish in an actual fish soup!!! My friend ordered the minty chilli prawns, the sauce which coated the prawns was tasty and zingy and the prawns cooked nicely however sadly the portion size and presentation was disappointing. Both starters seemed to arrive very quickly after ordering, which was a surprise. It seemed to me they had just been warmed through and thrown onto a plate. For my main course I ordered the mixed seafood curry which consisted of King fish,squid,prawns and mussels cooked in authentic Kerala special spice mixed sauce. The fish was cooked perfectly and the earthy Kerala special spice mixed sauce was the perfect accompaniment to the fish. Sadly the squid was over cooked and rubbery which was the only negative aspect to the dish. My friend overed the kuttanadan duck roast which consisted of slices of duck cooked in thick roast gravy sauce. The sauce had a lovely velvety rich flavour to it however the duck itself was a big let down as sadly it was tough a chewy. All in all some postives but also some negatives. If this was a school report it would probably read, 'tries hard but can do better '!!!"

"Our first time tries their vegan pizza and I must say it has not disappointed! the personal is really friendly, and it seems as if it's a place that really is on vegans that is always nice to find! if they are vegan and in the opposite, I recommend going here definitiw! they are also for those who are gluten intolerance. small tipp: the pizza is hot, but it is even better cold!"

"Visited today with two friends for lunch. The first thing we noticed was how cold it was inside. One of our party is having medical treatment so we asked if the heaters could be turned on only to be told they weren't working....what all I could see) of them?? Highly unlikely. likely a cost saving exercise...we should have realised when seeing all the staff wearing their coats. The food was reasonably prompt but hot food was served on cold plates in a very cold environment. Whilst it was very nice it very soon got cold. I had a hot chocolate drink after my meal and that was delicious and hot! Reading the other reviews it would appear that things seems to have taken a turn for the worse. Much colder weather to come and unless heating is used customers will not want to visit. Hopefully the owners are reading some of the latest reviews and plan to do something to improve things. Will not be returning for a while!"

"Now that we can walk to a decent curryhouse, we are visiting our favourite Bangladeshi restaurant in Bedford far less often, which is ridiculous when the food is so superior! Tonight all 5 of us loved our delicious meals. I had my usual vegan pathia, which was the best I’ve ever tasted, (always a good indicator of a great restaurant, when every time you eat there, the food is the best you’ve ever tasted! The bonus tonight though was being informed that they have stopped using ghee in their pilau rice, so now, apart from the keema rice, every other rice is suitable for vegans so I had the coconut rice . We’ll be back again soon!!"

"Great restaurant with excellent food. We visited with friends who live in the village on Saturday evening table of six). The restaurant has only been established for a short time but certainly is a must go to place if you are in the area....Excellent varied menu with quality local produce. All meals were professionally presented and full of flavour. Service was exceptional with staff going that extra mile, well done! Duck was locally sourced from Pastures farm with gnocchi, lovely with a side of greens. Crispy ribs fell off the bone and the wild boar and Apple sausage delicious. Rhubarb crumble finished off the meal perfectly Look forward to our next visit"

"On the day we visited there was a good selection of cakes, and we chose the carrot cake and the sprinkle cake, which were very good. There was also a gluten free option. It is a nice little cafe, which aims to use local ingredients. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the limited parking. We have driven past before and not gone in because we couldn't park. The café deserves more customers. The able bodied could park at Sainsbury's or Lidl and walk."
