"I initially emailed to ask for a reservation and had no reply so had to ring four days later. We went here for Sunday lunch on 27.08.23. The setting was lovely and relaxed. Our food arrived well presented both with very small gravy boats and we were told to ask if we wanted more gravy!! My veggie meal was plated with the boiled and roast potatoes under the burger type roast and smothered in gravy. The gravy was thick, rich and very tangy which left an awful taste on my tongue for ages. I asked my boyfriend how his meal was and he replied, “Quantity over quality,” and said the best thing on his plate was the ball of stuffing!!! When our plates were taken away I was not asked why my food was hardly touched and the waiter looked at my partner to ask if he wanted dessert and avoided all eye contact with me. For a man to notice I wasn’t acknowledged it quite something hahaha. I will not return. The Angel is only a couple of miles from where I live and when we got to our local pub afterwards everyone told us they knew the food was rubbish."

"Visited as passing by and had a really nice hot chocolate and a muffin. Lovely friendly staff and nice and warm inside Great service Only one criticism is that some of the comfy white chairs by the window are very badly worn and need replacing. Not the managers or staffs fault as this is a franchise and the owner needs to replace. Staff always smiling Will go back"

"What an incredible, traditional, village pub with great food and wonderful staff! After moving to this area recently, I, a gay man with 3 dogs, have received the most incredible welcome by absolutely everyone who works and frequents this place. I can honestly say that I have utilised this space for all it has to offer, from drinks, to off the cuff culinary nourishment, which isn’t always easy as a vegetarian, and I have loved every moment and taste! I have introduced many of my friends to this place when celebrating and not one of them have ever been disappointed, in fact, they have all commented on the cleanliness, the efficiency and the quality of everything they have experienced! Thank you so much for your consistency, your acceptance, and your continued quality in everything you do, you’re all awesome!!!"

"My partner and I visited Frankie and Benny’s, The Derwen Designer Outlet Village, Bridgend for lunch during a shopping trip. We were greeted promptly and shown to a table but we asked if we could be sat near a window which was fine. We ordered drinks my partner had a Diet Coke and I ordered a glass of Peroni which didn’t look or taste like Peroni? My partner had lasagne which was satisfactory but lacked any real meat content and I had the hot dog with fries which I enjoyed. The food is basically pub grub at probably the going rate and filled a little hole until we could get home for tea. We wouldn’t rush back to any Frankie and Benny’s again and were disappointed on the amount of quality eateries available at the Village Outlet."

"Visited the restaurant after a long day golfing nearby. We had a lovely warm welcome and we’re seated upstairs. Orders were taken promptly and our food arrived soon after. Very polite and friendly staff who were attentive to our needs. There are good vegan vegetarian options available and the food was delicious. This is our favourite ‘chippy’ in Porthcawl."

"Really enjoyed the food here . Erica and Helena were really helpful. With my dairy intelorance, Helena was really helpful in knowing my choices and they were both really patient with my husband and I. Really impressed by the non dairy choices on the menu especially with the desserts. Will be coming again ."
