"In the tourist areas along the coast from Rethymnon, this taverna stood out because of its variety of vegetarian dishes. Most places are heavy on the meat and fish, although there are usually one or two naturally vegetarian dishes (often a Greek salad and perhaps something like zucchini balls), but this place had a whole vegetarian section in its menu. The food was good and not too expensive. If you're staying in this area Kellari is a better bet than most of the others along the main road we walked up and down quite a way from our hotel in both directions checking out lots of different menus and this one was the winner for variety."

"Based on the description on Happy Cow we went to Mones for breakfast assuming they would know what vegan meant. There was only one breakfast option the waiter was able to recommend to us, so that's what we went with. The breakfast that was brought to us contained honey (for toast) and biscuits I very much suspected were not vegan and as I confirmed with the waiter (who consulted the kitchen) they were not really able to tell, but suspected at least the others probably contained egg. The actual vegan items of the breakfast contained, orange juice, a small bowl of fruit, another of plain ground dry oats, some coconut milk (for the oats), a few slices of toast, cucumber cubes, tomatoes, olives, olive oil, couple of small dishes of jam. The price was 14€ tip and we left the place hungry. Perhaps they have nicer options and more knowledgeable staff at dinner, but for breakfast this place was a flop."

"Αφοι Παπαδακη is a regular coffee and pastry shop, it also offers among the range of items sold also already vegan items. They are not labelled, so ask to the shop assistants. Really good and quite cheap."

"Two cakes; portions! that said eating is great. I had the vegan souvlaki, which is one of three specific vegans. it was cracking (three spits) and the circumcisions were also ass. They also checked whether I was fully vegan so that they made sure that I melone was freebie after dinner tasty bites."

"I was so happy and surprised finding this store in South Crete! I lived in on the island a few months and visited this bio shop many, many times! For the great produce, price and people. I got vegetables, quinoa, lentils, chickpeas, the best tahini(! , coconut oil, essential oils, shampoo and so on, from this beautiful shop. Everything I bought was ORGANIC, and I loved it! (They also have conventionally grown vegetables . The shop is very atmospheric and stores pretty much all you'll need (except supplements if that is what you are looking for . I am looking forward to going back! Updated from previous review on 2018-01-17"

"The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! there are not too many vegan options on the menu, but the staff was super helpful and we got a really delicious meal with mostly sweet from their garden. we went from the agia marina and took a taxi back for 15€. I suggest to go when they can because it's a nice road. do not miss this restaurant definitiw!"
