Very friendly and accommodating staff The lasagne was amazing, my partners Steak and Ale pie was fabulous too! Music was to my taste and not too loud which meant you could hold a conversation. "Gluten free/ coeliac avoid. Clear supply chain issue. As someone with a gluten allergy I was given a burger (after ordering from the gf menu and being assured by the restaurant) found that it was in fact a normal gluten burger. The bar refunded the tab and gave me a free drink and steak. The pub handled a bad situation well. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1"

"I really enjoyed my visit on Tuesday. the dame behind the bar was directed to know, and also brought me my meal and was attentive to my and my partner needs. the food was delivered quickly, hot and well presented. the facilities were clean, even testify to a member of the toilet control. will soon return to dinner!"

"We had a fantastic meal on Sunday. I ate a vegan Wellington package with lentil-and-what-not filling that was surprisingly delicious. It was served with all the circumcisions that would have been desired for plus potato and even Yorkshire Pudd!! It was not easy, but I stuffed everything home and went with a big belly, super satisfied Next time I will take a photo too!"

"My old disabled father had just come from the sick house and we hoped to find a nice place to lunch so that we came from the main street and came over the axe and compass. they could not have been more helpful and more patient...while they would have accepted us, so my father could easily get on going with crutches and get on support wherever they could. the food was delicious and the service we received was first class. although the axe and compass quite far from where we live, we want to try to go back there."

"In this pub some paints in the run of the years, but they do not have the vegan options they are doing now. a beautiful pub with a separate restaurant and a pleasant outdoor seating area. they can eat in the pub area at the same menu. vegan dishes are on the main card and are marked. I had the ultimate vegan burger. the chips and house Slav were delicious. Unfortunately, the burger itself was not great. I had hoped for a niceburger, but it was fake meat and not very good. I will definitely go back to try their other dishes and hopefully give him an extra star."

"Fantastic old country pub, not far from Ware and Hertford. Great for a bike ride from the nearby River Lea, and not too far from North London. Good local beers at good prices."
