"By train and taxi from Dundee for one night I didn't know what to expect with dinner, but the vegan menu at the front of the holder on each table showed several possibilities, including some not shown on the main menu. I chose soup with bread, served without the latter or any explanation or apology, a hot tar with new potatoes and steamed mixed veg, and possibly my most delicious ever hot apple cake with vanilla ice cream. The hot potatoes and broccoli were steamed for perfection, but the other veg was overcooked and hardly warm and had lost nutrients or taste. Tartlet was hot and tasty. The service was fast and cheerful. It is great that a pub chain goes to such troubles to imaginatively feed a tired traveler with special nutritional requirements. They just have to make their kitchen times right. Oh, and also unravel a vegan breakfast! No one was listed on the menu in the bedroom."
