"I was recently at the hatfield hotel for 2 nights for the work and the staff could not take up anymore. when my colleagues asked if there was a vegan option for afternoon tea, they answered naturally! it was beautiful, many options, with a great view of the seafront. in any case recommend! you need to book the day before."

"I was pleasantly surprised to find that the chef is a vegan, so offered to cook me all possible things! I had garlic mushrooms to begin toast, a delicious nut roast and a delicious dessert. very happy to adapt the dinge for vegan customers, therefore the 5 star rating."

"Found the place by accident, by simply taking a walk on the seafront and looked good so just popped in. Staff brilliant, so friendly and welcoming. Great food and choice of drinks and cocktails. Well done!!"

"We went to Wherry yesterday than in the area, as Happy Cow reviews recommended and there is little else to choose from here. We asked ourselves at the bar and the staff went helpful to ask in the kitchen about vegan options. We have been offered a veggie tart or vegan burger/patty and we have opted for the veggie tart. We waited for a table for 15 minutes and spent another 15 minutes waiting at Carvery. When we arrived to our veggie tart from the carvery we said they ordered the burger for us because THE VEGGIE TART MILK IN THE PASTRY. I know it was recommended here, so I wanted to warn someone that the only vegan option is the burger that comes with a vegan gravy. The Veg was beautiful (just avoid the mashing of both carrot and potato Yorkshire puddings, and the Gravy they offer a vegan) and the burger was more like a small piece of nut dust. You have a nut leaf containing egg so make sure you ask for the vegan burger. It was quite depressing that you had to run slowly past the meat in the cave, as the queue was very long and slow, but it was Sunday and the place is very popular with meat eaters. There are no dessert options apart from simple fruit salad. I thought £10.95 for a small burger and some vegetables with Gravy was quite much to pay as we were charged the standard carvery price. I feel that vegans never have priority in such a place. If you are in the area and short on options, you shouldn't make any effort to spend a long time near to large amounts of meat, and are happy to have just one option to choose, this is the place to go. We probably wouldn't go back soon."

"This is easily, for me, the BEST place to eat in lowestoft. Ok it's not that hard as there are very few options these days but I have never been disappointed when eating at this place. Booking a table in the restaurant is your best option however decent pub grub is available if your unable to book. There are daily specials up on the board which are always worth a punt and the kitchen are flexible, constructing whatever you like ad long as they have the ingredients. The service has always been top notch very polite, accommodating and friendly. The food itself is obviously cooked with care, compassion and love and it shines through starting with the quality of the ingredients, moving into the perfect way ot is cooked and the brilliant flavours it produces when eaten. It is one of the more pricier restaurants in lowestoft but again that's being compared to wetherspoons, spring tide and Hatfield eateries to name a few. I would choose this place to eat over any of those or others I have failed to mention. I enjoyed all the food I have eaten at this place and always left feeling satisfied, pleased and definitely wanting to return. I hope they carry on providing the service and products I have become used to in my short stay so far in this town."
