"Staff were very friendly and the facilities were great but the food I ate was average. I had the meatball starter and the slow roasted rabbit ragu for main and it was nothing that I couldn't have whipped up at home. The pizzas that I saw did look nice so I'd probably go back just to try them out. Reasonably priced but I did expect more hence the three stars."

"I used to bring people to this bar as I'm a local. Tonight I asked for 4 drinks from the owner of the bar and received 3, having paypassed the transaction. I asked for the bartender's attention; she gave me signals with her fingers to indicate that I needed to wait 2 or 3 more minutes. Ten minutes later she came back and told me the I should know what I had ordered, and if she had misheard me, it's not her problem. When I argued the point, she took my drinks away and threatened to call the police. She slammed some money on the counter and told me to leave. When I asked for a receipt, she refused, then eventually produced a receipt that was not mine. Another bartender came with a phone in her hand and told me to get out before she called the police. I told her she was welcome to as I had done nothing wrong. Interestingly, they did not call the police. Eventually the owner produced my receipt saying "I gave you someone else's receipt because I just wanted you to leave". I took it and was glad to leave the premises. The owner obviously has a rather large chip on her shoulder (quotes such as "Don't look down on me like I'm just a bartender - I'm the owner!"). I don't usually hear that from owners of successful bars. I will most certainly not be bringing anyone to this bar again. What an awful experience."

"I've visited every cafe in Northcote trying to find the best coffee, ell I finally found it and this is it. Not too strong, not burnt, not too hot just perfect. Also the breakfast options are amazing, the chef is a former chef from a high class city hotel and really knows how to cook some good nosh. I love it."

"A friendly little business that I can support if I can. have enjoyed countless slices of vegan pecan pier! the brownie, choc hazelnut ice cream sandwich, rocky road and mango Lassi ice cream were all quite good, but I go back to the cake. until recently when I tried the new Hummingbird cake, which is super moist, rich and delicious! the pesto and the frozen lasagne are a good value for money. I heard big things about their vegan sausage rolls, but not yet tried."
