"What a sound. we had only gone to topanga and almost to the inn of the seventh ray, because ratings all quoted great ambiente, but expensive. what an injustice! preparation was remarkable and eating was great, the epitome of molecular gastronomy, and the setting was also exceptional. if they have a food and within the santa monica area they have to eat in the seventsh ray!"

"I came in a few minutes early because I noticed the door was open id never been there before. The girl told me they weren't open yet, I told her I had never been there before and just wondered what they had. I was standing at the door and just wanted to look around. It was about three minutes until they opened. The girl gave me a funny look so I asked her would you like me to wait outside for the next two minutes until you open? She said wellll, what is it you want And seemed annoyed. I said never mind left. As a business owner/manager that's such poor service for a min pop shop."

"There is a reason why I can fall here 4 to 6 x’s per week. for claire and pauleen go the extra mile. this is a great family business and they have a high degree of customer service. it is refreshing and the mood is true for the traditional topangan style. there are some affordable items in comparison to other caffes. and I love the Ethiopian brew. I hope that places like these last forever and receive the energy of the roots California. it's a jewel and is a rewarding experience every time."

"We had Sunday brunch here yesterday and after making a reservation the night before and requesting a table near the creek we were given the worst two person table in the place and as far from the creek as you can get. When I brought this up to the host she just said they were having an event today and their were no other tables. We were right by the entrance and next to the event so there was a constant stream of people walking by on both sides of us going to the buffet tables, etc. If that wasn't bad enough the service was very slow, our meals didn't include the scones included with our meal and requested pepper never brought. On the plus side the food was very good, the waiter gave us an extra scone to go and the whole restaurant is very inviting like sitting in a garden. Updated from previous review on 2020-08-03"

"Here is my Country Natural Food Store review for happycow. It is a small, family-run business that carries a little of everything and is one of the only places in Topanga Canyon where you have the usual healthy snack food, etc... you also make a baked tofu that is delicious and cheap. Also makes sandwiches. A kind of space to stop for an emergency food repair."
