"We did not book, as we were just wandering around Southbank...and what a find!!! The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was exceptional. Food and beer were oh so yummy :) We were seated at a table overlooking the Yarra, view was awesome. We will definitely be returning."

"In-room dining (dinner) - the chicken casserole that I ordered was extremely salty and inedible. The meat was overcooked and the amount of steamed vegetable that came with the dish was so little & tiny (5 pieces of baby vegetable!!!), and hard (they were undercooked). If I have to rate the dish it would be 0/10. It was disgusting and simply not a dish that should be served by a five star hotel. The garlic bread was hard like rock. My husband and I used to enjoy the in-room dining at The Langham and it used to be something that we highly recommend to our families and friends - not anymore! Breakfast buffet at Melba Restaurant - POOR quality of breakfast/ingredients (baked beans was sweet, most breads and pastries were dry and tough, mushrooms and fruits were chopped in all different shapes & unappetising) - Lack of variety (we had the same selection for 3 days) - Mouldy gingers were found in the juicing bar for consecutively 2 days! I had two guests from overseas who joined us for breakfast at the Melba Restaurant. It was so embarrassing when the above mentioned was raised. I couldn't even justify paying $40++ per person - simply not worth it. It somehow made us felt like the hotel is trying to cut costs and use cheap ingredients. We recently stayed at the Sheraton Melbourne and their breakfast buffet was excellent. Their selection was comparably smaller but their menu changed slightly each day. The most important is that they used BETTER quality ingredients as compared to The Langham and all of the food served at hot and cold stations were FRESH. We were satisfied with the services provided by the front desk, bell desk, housekeeping and Chuan Spa, but felt that the whole dining experience was a huge disappointment to our overall stay at The Langham. No great hurry for us to return to The Langham."

In the Nobu from Southbank, a lot of emphasis is placed on the preparation of healthy, tasty Japanese dishes with freshly harvested vegetables, fish and meat.
