"I found this place by accident and I’m so glad I did! The space is elegant but inviting, and the owners took great care helping me choose from the menu (I was desperate for vegetables. Their interpretation of caponata (pumpkin, apples, artichokes and capers instead of the usual eggplant was the perfect combination of flavors. The pear cake with chocolate will make you cry (happy tears . My only regret is I am leaving Messina tomorrow so I can’t come back to try more of the menu. But many thanks!"

"We were on a short provisioning and diesel stop in Messina while sailing to Athens. We saw Doddis across the street from the supermarket near Nettunia marina and stopped for a coffee. There food and pastry offerings and atmosphere were so nice we stayed for a light lunch. The pizza was delicious as were the antipasti we chose from the display case. This was during the height of the Corona virus period so everyone was very careful about keeping distance but the service was very friendly. Not a lot of English spoken there. The barista was very helpful as was the hostess/cashier (owner? Recommend stopping there if you're in the area."

"I almost avoided this restaurant initially, as when I tried to book the owner didn't speak any English so I did't/couldn't book. However, as the restaurant was near to my hotel I thought I would persevere and I was totally rewarded. The food here is traditional Sicilian and is extraordinarily good. The setting is rustic and the language (English) is slightly awkward but if you enjoy superb Italian cooking at its best its worth the effort to communicate. Your reward is not only excellent food but excellent food at half the equivalent of many of the other 5* restaurants in Messina. I highly recommend this restaurant."

"Angeli di pecorara was the dish to beat all dishes basically roasted vegetables with pasta and grated ricotta on the top. And the pizzas looked amazing! Very busy when we were there in the summer. The crema catalana (creme brulee) came out with the sugar alight .. and also tasted very good. Price for food reasonable."
