"Stayed at the nearby campsite at Glemsford thought I’d give Wongs Cherry Tree a try, menu looked good the premises looked ok as well. Had a bit of a wait, was told if I sat outside they would bring my food out to me when ready… after about 25 mins a girl bought it out to me apologising for the delay but it had been left on the side she had forgotten to bring it out to me, not a great start but these things happen. I had Chinese roast pork omelette chips, the chips were really greasy had absorbed loads of oil, if you squeeze them oil comes out of them, either the oil was not hot enough or the oil needs changing I’d say… As for the omelette again it was swimming in oil or butter, not sure which? It was edible just but not really enjoyable. I’ve had much better takeaways, so glad I didn’t go with a big order, here for a few days but wouldn’t bother going there again, might’ve just been unlucky, as the place was fairly busy despite it being early evening, but personally not impressed sadly."

"Was also staying at the Travelodge just down the road, was recommended the pub by the receptionist, made the 5 minute walk round the corner to see the pub in front of me, thinking it it was closed at first, then walked around the other side and dubiously walked in, was surprised to find it quite busy, was sent to the kitchen hatch to talk to the chef, which I had't done before, but was nice to see a clean kitchen and the chef was very friendly, I ordered a curry and was asked how i would like it, mild, medium or hot. Took a while to come, but was in no rush, but was very surprised, thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back!!"

"Lovely evening last night at this lovely pub! Manager very politely moved us to a quieter table without us even asking, which was thoughtful, we had steak and liver and bacon, both were lovely! Beer was well kept too! Nice to see a lovely fun pub back up and running! Long may it continue!"

"Absolutely amazing experience today! The food was good, the prices very reasonable but the service was utterly outstanding. Thea welcomed myself and my toddler, was very accomodating of allergies and went out of her way to help us to the table I requested, including helping me lift the buggy. She made sure my hungry toddler was served almost immediately and was so kind and thoughtful that the whole experience was stress free and I felt very well looked after. I will be definitely going back next time I'm in Sudbury and I hope that Thea is working then too!"

"An amazing cozy hotel with very friendly helpful staff, excellent eating with a thickensian atmosphere in a famous place that was used as godrics hollow in the last harry potter films. I have visited here a lot and the angel is the choice of local and no wonder, it serves the best coffee and serves great beer. it is worth pre-ordering the mature steak they offer, the chefs here are of the highest quality and its favourite place to relax. I was only sad that I could eat Christmas here, as it was fully booked by the locals early!"

"Ancient pub in an historic building at the centre of a quiet village. The Sunday lunch we had was excellent my trad beef, the SO's nut roast and our companion's fish chips were all top notch. Everything on my plate which included a delicious onion marmalade was first class. A small menu of well judged dishes which changes, we were told, monthly. A very good range of beer on tap and you could see, from the number of locals dropping in for a pint, that the pub is well used by the community. Added to my list of nearby pubs to drop along to. Vegetarian options: Very good carrot and nut roast. Excellent fish chips"
