"After a very busy morning walking and exploring Biarritz we decided to have a 'fast food' lunch so we could sit outside and continue to enjoy the sunshine. We came across Le Basta which is just up the hill from the Grand Plage. Service was friendly and quick and the bill was really reasonable for a double cheeseburger, Paninin Roma for a vegetarian and Sprites.It is a typical cheap outlet. It filled a gap and was really friendly. Lots of people were using this outlet from the beach as it saved them from getting changed for lunch."

"This restaurant is easily missed being tucked in the cellar under an exclusive Thai restaurant. When found it has a very pleasant atmosphere between a bar and restaurant. The menu is only on a blackboard with the usual collection of pork lamb veal and beef each with a slight twist. No menu or plat de jour. Having eaten ourself silly for several days my wife opted for the sea bass and I for the lamb chops only. The lamb arrived with the vegetables jus and meat stone cold but pink. I sent it back with no argument and the new dish arrived very quickly with some improvements but the potato gratin red hot and burnt underneath. They were busy but this should not happen in a mid class restaurant. The desert of figs and caramelised apple was delicious. The wine list is very large with a very good selection of bottles half bottles an glasses. The waitress was a little abrupt but acceptable. Prices were reasonable. Pity with a little bit of extra attention this could be a very good restaurant. For a start try warming the plates."

"This is a deceptively stylish restaurant in a residential area just off the Avenue de la Marne. Considerable thought has been given to the modern, simple but stylish décor. The same can be said of the food, particularly the 5 course gastronomic menu which was good value at 30 euros. Frequented by the locals, but our host was willing to speak English after our hopeless efforts in French. We loved his answer on being asked why the house red wine was Spanish...........because he liked it! Nouvelle cuisine at its best."

"More popular place to lunch so we stopped. service was excellent with friendly and efficient servers. the entrances were delicious, including chipirons and paprika. merlu was well prepared, but was subpar, because texture was missing, garlic fried mandeling were not delicious at all. Basken-Gateau with. Brebis ice cream was super delicious."

"This is my second visit to the Balade en Armenie and I feel compelled to write a review so that the locals and visitors might profit from this culinary gem. Everything including the array of produce, the quality of produce, the presentation of produce, the savours of produce; wines (many award winning from Armenia of course)! and ambiance and service are beyond reproach.This family run restaurant has strived to offer an original, wholesome, and extraordinary dining experience at truly amazing prices which alas is missing with many Biarritz establishments which trade on past glory when in fact their sun has well and truly set. A sweet and warming establishment which should be added to everyone's fine and varied restaurant repertoire."

"Visited this bar (5 of us) for a morning coffee....clearly we were not welcome. Advised food would not be available for an hour which we said was ok as we only wanted coffee. We were shown a small cramped corner despite other seats being available. Coffee was poor quality and expensive in comparison to other places. Would not accept €50 note for a €20 spend so we had to scrape up enough change to pay. unfortunately we didn't have enough to leave a tip. Leave this place alone and go elsewhere"
