"I had to write a review after seeing the recent bad one... I'm lucky enough to live here in Hebden Bridge and JK's is my favourite local takeaway. JK's does the biggest selection of veggie chinese dishes I've ever seen anywhere and everything is absolutely delicious. I am crazy about the tofu in black bean sauce and the mock duck pancakes are the best oh and the mock duck with teriaki sauce dish is amazing too! Just writing about them in this review is making me want a takeaway tonight! Also got to say that the folk work there are the nicest people you could wish to meet everyone is cheerful and polite so all in all I would give JK's 10 out of 10."

"We waited a very long time for our order and when it arrived the pizza was BURNT like soooooo burnt like not edible burnt and then there was two that weren’t burnt but they were RAW like at first I thought it was just melted...cheese but it was RAW DOUGH...was looking forward to my pizza but it was so bad and the chips OMG the CHIPS were chewy! "

"Travelling in the area we were amazed that most food places were closed on a Tuesday lunchtime so went back to the old faithful ‘spoons, which was busy. Ale festival choice of beers was very poor, I think only one or two extra but food was what it said it was, certainly no more and no less, the chicken and bacon panini was but light on filling but overall you know what you’re getting. Could do with some new tables, looked rather battered"

"We held our ceremony and reception at The Fleece. It was the perfect wedding venue. The picturesque views surrounding The Fleece set the back drop for many special photos. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and were on hand to ensure every little detail was perfect and that the day ran smoothly. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Carrie-Anne and the events team for making everything come together. The food was amazing and the canapés were delicious! The rooms were incredibly cozy and our guests enjoyed staying in them, the bridal suite was fantastic too! Once again thank you soo much to everyone at the fleece for making our special day truly amazing! We would highly recommend the fleece to anyone!"

"Very small portions with very very little on the menu. The chef also got angry and was was shouting which everyone could see and hear through the serving hatch. We have been before and found it slightly better than average but the second time was very very poor."

"Lovely pub setting in Cragg Vale. Great food options as well. Ordered the steak and ale pie but it was quite rich in flavour. Heavy on the ale, overpowering the rest of the dish. Served with chips and mushy peas, the chips were quite bland. I would also be a bit pedantic and say it’s a pot pie opposed to a pie as it was served in a dish with a pasty lid. I wouldn’t let this one visit put me off ever returning. It’s one occasion, would happily go back to try something else. The service itself was great. Very friendly and quick."
