"Small Korean restaurant, shabby furniture (which is fine if the food is good). The Korean pancake was burned, the fried chicken was nice and the dipping sauce was delicious. Bibimbab was adequate, had better in the city. Waitress and chef amused themselves talking very loudly...... which I found rude and annoying. Won't go back."

"After studying the menus of a number of local establishments we selected dinner here after the movies. We managed to get the last table! Why is this place so busy? Because it offers good food at great value. It provides all the ingredients of a good night out without you questioning the cost. Recommend, but go early to get a seat."

"Ate there in a party of 5 people - took the Thursday night tasting plate menu at $39 per head. Good value and the highlights being the beef (which we upgraded with great chips) and the chocolate dessert.Took our wine and paid $10 per bottle surcharge.The front bar looks really nice and suited to couples while the backroom is more suited to groups.We would all go back to The Barrel - a really nice night out."

"The girl who served us was very nice and always checked on us. She also served our food promptly. Nice ambient. Butter chicken and rice were really yummy. Vegetarian dish was ok-ish but entrees were good."

"This is a favourite venue of my wife I, as well as a number of our friends who live in the vicinity. It has a great vibe, the owner Dan who is normally there is a great host. Dan always makes an effort...to meet greet patrons, as well as farewell them for the evening. A nice touch! The food at the bar is good, but the pizzas from Marylina’s over the road are outstanding. There is a solid range of beer, wine spirits to keep most people happy. The theming is quite cool, they have a great one-man-band on Saturday night. Definitely a good option for small or larger groups. Keep us the good work!"

"Their menu was inspired and just large enough to give us options but plenty of flavour. Perfect coffee, we drank quite a few! If you're a vegetarian or a health conscious person you'll be happy with this place. The ingredients are fresh, plenty of veggie options and portion sizes that make you full without being over-full."

Nothing pretentious, just really good beautifully cooked food Steve does the best seafood and mixed tempura along with a wide menu of typical Japanese dishes, including great value for money lunch boxes. Beer, wine, sake available or bring your own...for a minimal fee. Inside or outside tables. Great service. Will be back again and again."
