"Don't believe the bad reviews. of course, when they visit during the summit of tourist season, it will be lines out of the door, I wonder why. Maybe good eating, good service? I am a native and I eat in the salt bay caffe once per week, often order something else than the menu, but sometimes order one of my favorites the caesar salat; with a takeout in the last three years, eating was wonderfully prepared and so delicious that I could not help but also end with the large portions. it is the only place I have ever eaten (and I travel outside of maine and outside the usa frequent) that has such an extensive vegetarian menu in addition to the plentiful selection of non vegetarian items. the chef always tries new things and the gloomy should die! the personal is friendly and timely, although the place is obviously busy when there is a line from the door and the place is packed, it could wait a bit. So, kudos to the hardworking and friendly coworkers in the salt bay caffe, I will see you next week!"
