"Lovely evening drinks. The complimentary nobles were amazing. We even took our 2 year old. So nice to find somewhere we can go for drinks in the evening and our child is welcome. Staff are so friendly. We will definably be going back."

"This place has let me down again waiting over an hour after expected delivery time given by them and phone going to answer phone... don’t except the order if can’t fulfil in the time you quote and also now out of pocket as fed up...of waiting again. This restaurant is so rubbish and I will tell them to there faces in the morning!!!! what is the point of offering a service if can’t deliver it!!! I would rather they said it would be hours rather than excepting the order and giving mins and puts a rather big disappointment on the meal now. This site is only interested in the money rather than customer satisfaction we more fool them,"

"Excellent service from Francisco soon as we entered felt very very welcome, ordered on the app nice and easy, food was so fresh and juicy definitely one off the better Nando's we have been to, the lad who took over the upstairs at 5pm so lovely and checked on us, Excellent experience!"

"CR My party of four decided to dine at Cafe Rouge in Maidstone to celebrate a family birthday. The Bread Nibbles that we ordered were very tasty and went down well. For main course, three of us ordered fillet steak with fries and the fourth ordered breaded hake fillet with fries. When the four meals arrived, all the fries were cold. We told the manager who said she didn't want to take the meals back and that she would order some extra fries. These eventually arrived after about ten minutes, which left the diner with the fish eating fish on its own before it too got cold and likewise for the people with the steak. One of the steaks was requested to be cooked medium, but when it arrived it was well done and all three steaks looked dry. It was almost as if the plates had been left on the side in the kitchen after dishing up and had been forgotten. We all ordered a sweet, two of which were good. However the others, which were 2 x 2 scoops of ice cream for a costly total of £9 were literally dropped into a glass without even a tuile or other embellishment in sight. We felt that the food was not very well presented. It could have been understandable if the restaurant was busy, but it was a long way from it. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the manager gave us a discount of £40, but the chef (I use the term loosely) needs speaking to or replacing. It was still a very disappointing experience on what should have been an enjoyable family outing in a restaurant whose prices are near top of the range for food that is mediocre."

"Worked all over Kent for years, but only came across the Redstart 2 weeks ago. Dined lunchtime on a Thursday with 4 friends. All agreed that the various choices of meals were superb. Served by a very efficient female European bar person who was readily available when required. In all, a very pleasant dining experience, we will return."

"I was here for lunch earlier, with the standard expectations of a Toby Calvery. It’s no bells and whistles, but some people love it and fair play to them. My comments are not about the food, because unfortunately, it is what it is. The place was packed, which is great to see! My comments were regarding the staff. When I arrived holding my son, there was a disgruntled lady in front of me holding her child arguing with the host (lady in a red tshirt, didn’t catch her name) the customer was arguing over her child not being allowed to sit on her lap during lunch. The host said she’d booked a table for two, and not three. The customer carried on arguing, and taking photos of the host whilst being rude and moaning about their policies etc. I’d been a restaurant manager for 15years, and totally agree with the staff. If you’ve got a child that can sit, book them a seat. It’s not rocket science. Book a table of three, so you’re allocated a bigger table, that doesn’t block any walkways/fire escapes. The customer was just rude, and the staff member handled it really well. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and courteous. The young lady who served our drinks, and took our order was friendly."

"Well there was no atmosphere as we were the only ones there on a Saturday evening. Also, although the food tasted alright, it wasn't that hot suggesting it was not cooked just before it came to our table. The noise from the bar downstairs wasn't an issue but we left at about 9:30pm. BTW 10% service is automatically added to the bill. So there was nothing to encourage me to go back."
