"A great dinner in this restaurant. it is quite packed for my dinner time slot at 5. many diners who give up their commands when we arrived. we had a great minenstrone suppe and 2 pasta dishes for the night. the suppe was surprisingly light, compared to those I had elsewhere. my pasta had garnel and steak, both were juicy and well prepared. the pasta was really delicious! drink them for dinner when they are in the city!"

"Excellent food and excellent service! We had lunch on Sunday and the guy who took our order at the cash register came around to all the tables asking if everything was ok. He then offered us more hot water when we finihed out Hot Toddy drinks and added more honey as well. Thank you, it was very much appreciated."

"Translate my review here as there are 2 lists for this location. I've been in ravens before and I know how delicious this was. this time was a total disappointment. overcrowded rice in the risotto, while somehow the alcohol from the wein did not boil; gritty polnta, which was strangely sweet; turbulent overload in the tofu cube, which is the same as the “baked tofu” and the same as the filling for the crepe. I wanted it to be so much better. will not come back unless there is a drastic change in the kitchen. updated by the previous review on 2022-04-06"

"Staying in an all-vegan resort is a luxury. The area is beautiful (don't miss Mendocino Headlands State Park). The food at The Ravens Restaurant is good. The massages are great and the garden has really cool plants and flowers. Rent a canoe on the Big River lovely even if you don't find any river otters or harbor seals (and awesome if you do). Our room had a deck with a beautiful view. Co-owner/founder Joan Stanford is fun, kind, and accommodating. For $450 per night (plus tax), however, I expect more. The room was not as nice as other places that cost a fraction as much. For example, the bathroom is out of date and unventilated. I expect enough outlets that work and are dry (not on the sink) and accessible to charge at least the phones and smart watches of two people. OTOH, that price included breakfast, pool and hot tub access, yoga, and free mountain bike rentals. The restaurant was also somewhat overpriced. Entrees are around $25-36. Good food, slow and problematic service: one server acted as though I were invisible (just one example: he presented the dessert menu and the dessert itself to my husband only, even though I had ordered it and said we were sharing it); and almost every meal, at the restaurant or in the room, included a significant error (e.g., omitting the tofu from the Thai Red Curry and serving only the vegetables). OTOH, all errors were corrected, room service was always prompt, and they say they are understaffed due to COVID. Re the apparently sexist server, I called the front desk later to ask whether it would be possible not to be seated in a certain server's area in the future. I didn't say which server or why. I was told that it is hard to hire staff right now and they consider themselves lucky to have everyone they have. The rep didn't ask what the problem was or offer a solution. We didn't bring dogs, but we encountered other guests retrieving their dog from their car. They said they were required to put the dog in the car when they went to the pool/hot tub. If that is true, it's inexcusable to mandate leaving dogs alone in cars. I hope they were misinformed. The lobby gift shop featured pearl and mother-of-pearl jewelry. We had a great vacation, but didn't quite feel that we were getting what we paid for. Updated from previous review on 2021-07-11"
