"Very poor service party of 20 spent over 550 in total with drinks 2 meals missing hardly an apology more tried to blame us. Offered a meal to take home as a piece keeper but declinded table for 20 had 16 sets of cutlery had to take 4 from a spare table we brought a cake they didnt offer forks to eat it with overall poor place not served a meal about 6=7 time ive been never again over priced and lack of customer care in my opion a shame as a lovely setting.. if the right person was at the helm this place could be spot on. But until that time i will never return. Management please raed and take on board andy"

"Superb meal and ambiance ... had a pre theatre meal this evening.. amazing service from Florian our waiter who was not in our face but pleasantly attentive and cared for our every need. Wine was amazing. Starters.. hard to decide but fantastic calamari.. or the goats cheese salad with beetroot... mains.. we had delicious rump steak cooked blue and rare to perfection with an amazing peppercorn sauce.. burger was huge...boeuf bourguignon was melt in the mouth..and the vegetarian 'cheese balls ' is not only for the vegetarians... the complimentary French bread with the most exquisite butter is highly addictive. Desserts..wow. sticky toffeefrangipanecreme bruleetopped off with a fragrant espresso... highly recommended. Decor is fab. Music in the background is perfect. Lighting creates the perfect anbiance... and an open plan kitchen where the chefs are well under control . Very impressed. Look forward to our next visit. "Eliano's is situated behind Lindthorpe road, opposite to where the post office used to be, next to the taxi ranks near Woolworth's.It's a cosy little place, with cute little tables and a rustic atmoshpere. It is not visible from the main road so it's usually more quiet than it should be but that can work to your advantage on a Friday and Saturday night that you haven't booked a table anywhere else.The menu is very good. Great selection of food, inspired by the owners that are in fact Italian (and that is so hard to come by nowadays). The specials can be genial at times. If you ever come across the chicken sausage stuffed with garlic and pistachios, go for it without a second thought, it's one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted).As far as cleanliness is concerned I have no complaints. Everything was spotless every time I have been there.What you have to look out for though, is the consistency in service. I have been to that restaurant times and half of them the food was fantastic whereas the other two it just wasn't very good. I asked around and it appears the restaurant has two chefs. One of them unfortunately is a young girl (who I have met) that seems to have a few disorders that affect her work. One of thse times I had to complain about my food (I normally just walk away and simply never go back) just to let them know that one of their chefs is bringing the whole restaurant down in standards. I ordered a tenderloin pork dish with fennel and various other herbs and vegetables. My first shock was when I saw the amount of meat I got. It was literally enough for people and that is unusual for the restaurant. The second shock was when my vegetarian friend asked me if I could smell the meat in her dish and I realised it was mine that smelled so much, I was worried it would put off the other customers around me. And when I tasted it, it was bland and rubbery. Really quite awful.So when I politely said I wasn't happy with it and explained I wasn't asking for my money back, I simply wanted to let them know their standards were slipping due to inconsistency in food quality, I was told it must be me and I must be having an off day'. I did not appreciate being treated like this when I was spending my well earned money there so I have never gone back.Saying that, the owners seem to be different as much as the food is. I have met the Italian owner and we were talking for half an hour straight. She was quite a nice lady with peole skills so once more you can see the contradiction in this business. I would advise you to give it a go during happy hour (lunchtime weekdays) since it's a gamble what you will get and it's best not to pay a lot of money if you get the inexperienced chef."
