"Ordered small portion of salmon fish cake and indeed it was one resembled birds eyes fishcake undercooked peas and lots of fries. Friend wanted cheese onion pie which ten mins later said sold out so ended up with sausage and mash . Due to lots...of choice of curry and not really on a hot humid day. Menu small otherwise overpriced for basic food"

"Stayed here for a one night break. A gem of a place. The room was perfect with an outstanding bathroom. We had dinner and breakfast and both were first class. All the staff were attentive, friendly and professional. As a bonus the Peacock also has...a microbrewery which you can visit or simply sample the beer in the pub or buy it to take away). The Peacock is in a small village on the edge of the Peak District. Easy to get to from the M1. The countryside views from our room and the dining room were stunning. We will visit again and again …..!!"

"Latest review: Local pub with good vibes and full of life. Hospitality: 5/5 service was on point with waiting times, and care. Food: 5/5 the food was excellent as always. The vegan ghoats cheese a red onion tart I normally have was great. All our choices were of great quality. All around satifaction Ran out of cheesecakes. But desserts normally are amazing The cheesecakes were.. as I just said Building: 5/5 same amazing design as my last review with a slight added bit of festive spice with I'm into. +1 My dad had the best stake ever. Hats of to the chef. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Recommended dishes: Pudding, Fish and Chips"

"Vegan products are cooked seperate. the fervent fritters are amazing. love the chips and gravy. can occasionally be met and miss, last time everything was wound seperate, although we asked to ask them together what seemed a waste of resources. quite expensive for a hip shop, in comparison to say ranmoor friery. vegan chios more expensive than normal chips. but good food for a tasty bite."

"When they are at the place to foot are warm and we were greeted with a friendly face. the young lady showed us on our table and was very polite and efficient. my wife is picky with eating, but all the changes in the court she wanted to make were made without fuss. the tables were nice and very clean when the food arrived, it was well presented and very hot. I had lasagne and my wife had the cake. pie takes 30 minutes, but we were told when we placed our order. all our foods were very delicious and well seasoned. the waitress was very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. overall it was a beautiful meal. I would definitely go back. the prices are also very reasonable."

"Fantastic service from the Devonshire Arms! From booking to eating the whole experience was first class. We booked a table for 10 for my sons 17th birthday. I was sent confirmation and the preorder document within 5 minutes of my call. We added another guest too at no extra trouble. Staff were friendly on arrival and extended impeccable service throughout the night. The food!! Exceptional. So tasty and you could tell the menu was considered and everything had been cooked with care. Steak was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef! Everything else ordered was fresh and piping hot. Portion sizes gave more than moneys worth, even the kids menu didn’t leave my 9yo niece hungry! We had a range of starters, mains with sides and desserts and everything was outstanding. A bit off the beaten track but definitely a hidden gem that’s worth the drive! To all the staff, thanks for a memorable evening! We will be sure to return!"
