"..but don't expect happy, friendly people! In fact after six years my partner refused to go there. Not just because it is vegetarian but because of the pompous way the staff acts. I've heard them being so offhanded to someone asking about accomodation that I was tempted to warn them against it. The food is good and the grape juice yummy. There are hammocks to lay in but so many of the other beach places have happy, friendly staff that I'd rather go there and smile rather than feel I have to sit there and be looked down upon! And at a premium price!"

"Cannot recommend these guys enough and will definitely go again when I'm back in Palolem.I was looking for somewhere that did a shark curry, everyone said it was awesome and it was my last day so I was determined to have it. Walking along the beach one of the guys approached us, as they do and I said I wanted the curry, he said its not on the menu but he will personally ask the chef to make it - and he did! We chose our shark and had complimentary accompaniments with the curry, which was stunning. Also cant beat a good old happy hour :) The attention to service was just right the whole time we were there too, attentive but not over bearing and we even had the chef personally deliver our food. A-mazing!"

"We ate and drank here multiple times during our stay, food was delicious, very friendly staff, especially Bimal hope I’ve spelt his name correctly) would highly recommend anyone to visit and eat here. Great place to sit outside with a glass of wine and...watch the comings and goings in the street. Oh and the toilet was exceptionally clean!"

"The Olive Room was one of the few restaurants open during the Monsoon. Oh, and by the way, when Indians say "off season" they MEAN "off season." The entire town of Palolem was shut down! So when our host recommended the restaurant, I didn't have high hopes. We were pleasantly surprised by both the food and service. My favorite dishes are Chicken 65 and the shish kebab. I don't know what exactly goes into Chicken 65, but it's AMAZING. So spicy and delicious. Everything was very fresh and made to order. Definitely go here if you're in Palolem. :)"

"In a recent five weeks stay in Palolem, I took most of my breakfasts here. A mug of fresh brew coffee is a must for me and nowadays I settle for yum brown bread toast, excellent butter and apricot jam. From other holidays I know...the fresh fruit salad is tops as are omelettes. Brown Bread was well established on my first, 2003, visit. The owners found a winning menu from the start. The cafe is spacious and peaceful with a pleasant garden each side. The family remembers their customers and greet regulars with a friendly word."

"Peaceful and beautiful place to hangout(or get some work done). We came here for breakfast and ended up staying till evening. Food is yummy and do try their fresh juices and kombuchas. Friendly staff."

"Me and my wife visited this Restaurant while i was looking for nice local Fish place which doesn't have westernized preparations and i found this place. All the items on the thali were delicious and finger licking. Definitely worth a visit for a nice sumptuous...meal if you are in Palolem."
