"We enjoyed the food here very much. Lots of vegetarian options, and tasty fusion items. Our favorite was the Day Boat Scallop and the Crispy Pork Belly. The izakaya type of meal means that we can share the tasty tapas! Love it that they show case all the local farms that they use in their recipes."

"Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii...Looking for a late night meal, we searched our Yelp apps and found Volcano Skewer House. Located on the Ground Level of the 808 Sheridan Center, we found free street parking on Sheridan Street. Service was very friendly and welcoming especially since we didn 't have reservations. A table was being cleaned when we arrived, and we were lucky to get it!We ordered the beef, chicken, and lamb skewers and asked for no spicy . A small bowl of spices was placed on the side, but the chicken skewers were still spicy hot. The lamb wasn 't too gamey, and the beef wasn 't too tough. There was a tray which stayed warm by candles under it. The skewers were placed on the tray. Our used skewers went into the designated receptacle. We also had the scallion pancake crispy and a bit oily. The Garlic Eggplant was disappointing. It smelled delicious, but had a spicy topping with strange flavors and some kind of noodles. Overall, it was a fun experience! We enjoyed the whimsical decor and were happy that we didn 't have to cook our own food! Next time, we should get the mushrooms, corn, green beans, and bean curd!"

"Food is tasty and well represented. We enjoyed the cold appetizer chicken liver, entree mushroom Lau Lau pithivier and venison bolognese rigatoni, and dessert purple potato mont blanc. Although the shrimp texture in dish “shrimp a la plancha” is not fresh enough, it won't shadow the overall experience. Will definitely come back to try the new menu : !"

"The food at this place is amazing. The store doesn’t look like much inside and it’s quite transactional but there are a few seats inside and the quality of the sushi rolls is WORTH THE TRIP. SO YUM! It has a rich smooth taste and perfect rice. You won’t be disappointed. I didn’t try anything else but would 100% go back.Vegetarian options: All rolls can be made with only veg.Kid friendliness: It’s so laid back no one would care if your kids are here."

"Freshly made donuts. Can easily mix and match layers and fillings so that you get anyone can get gluten-free or vegan donuts. We appreciated that even the chocolate sauce was vegan! The space is also a lot cooler than we expected and the couple running the shop provided exceptional service. These are going to be different than most donuts, especially ones made in a factory. Worth trying!Due to all the labor, they are somewhat pricy, so this would not be a regular treat for us. We very much appreciate a solid donut place with vegan options right in Waikiki.Vegetarian options: All vegetarian. Most options are vegan with clear labels and the owners are knowledgeable about what is vegan.Dietary restrictions: The owners are knowledgeable about vegan and gluten-free options, plus they clearly know what goes into everything. Also clearly-marked with the ability to mix and match, so you can find what works for you."
