"It was completely refreshing not only to have a vast selection of gluten-free options available, but also to have the GF menu in clearer sight as I order queuing. the food, the drinks and the service were no longer. with a clean, friendly and welcoming environment. boswells is an absolute gem. where so many places it wrong, boswells makes it so right!"

"This is a lovely cosy cafe. There's vegetarian options and nice choice of coffee including filter. Run by brother and sister, and they're always welcoming and chatty.Had a vegetarian breakfast and it was lovely: large portion of bakes beans. Kept me going for the rest of the day.They also do nice salads and cake."

"Visited this lunchtime to see what this old favourite was doing these days. I dropped in for a quick drink and stopped for what I can only describe as the best treat that my taste buds have had in a long time. Exquisite Thai food, beautiful presentation served by people who truly care about what they do. I would eat here every day if I could and can't wait to bring my family and friends to eat here. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. So glad that I took a little detour on the way home. My sincere thanks to you for fantastic service and the best lunch that I have had in a long time and at a very reasonable price!. Been back here and it just gets better. Everyone here really cares about what they do."

"Went for a meal on the 1st of November we’d booked our table for 4 quite a number of weeks prior, we arrived to be greeted by a member of staff might have been the manager “I hope you’ve pre booked or it’s pot luck what you get” amazing greeting! We ordered our meals and drinks as well as some water for with our meals. Our meals arrived (which were edible that’s all you can say about them) and the server bought the water and 3 glasses…. There were 4 of us, they then noticed the mistake and said “ohhh there’s four of you ahh well two of you will have to share” in a very can’t be arsed manner. We are individually repeat visitors as we are all very local, that will be our last visit the meal that my place of works Christmas meal (booked that night by someone that wasn’t with us) has now been cancelled via Barclay card, if we want to be treated like that we’ll go to Burger King the foods of about the same standard anyway"

"On our way to Heathrow I told my wife that I would be here October 5th for a concert, and would like to check the premises before. A single pint would do. Cost me GBP 125, this dropping by! Their August special was their lobster plate, a mixture of some of the best seafood I have ever had. And I am pretty old, I have in all modesty had splendid seafood in many parts of the world. But never better. Extremely well presented, half a lobster each, clams, gigant shrimps, a whole crab, well prepared in its shelf, large mussels, fresh vegetables etc. All extremely fresh and of the highest quality you could imagine. Best meal I have had for a long time."

"First weekend after a four-month lockdown the restaurant's outdoor area was packed with happy people. Despite this, service was excellent throughout. It was a very cold evening and I did put my coat on after a while, but there were several heaters doing a...great job. As a wimp who feels the cold a lot I was absolutely fine. We were told that the food might take a little longer than usual, and we were given the most delicious amuse bouche' while waiting In fact the food didn't take very long and it was up to the usual high standards, beautifully presented you see dishes sailing past to other tables and think I want that too My starter the popcorn falafel' was exceptional in terms of taste and artistry. We love the Unicorn thank you for a wonderful evening have woken up feeling very happy!"

"My theme for this review would be 'Duck 's off ' given our group of 12 pre-ordered but the duck salad had disappeared off the menu before our booking date arrived. I declined to order a replacement as I found the limited choice of four starters (normally my favourite part of eating out) was not to my taste. Maybe a starter with prawns in it would be a good addition or fried breaded brie to provide more alternatives? This choice was reduced further when on arrival we were informed that due to a supply not arriving that day 'Thai fish cake is off '. The owner was very good at suggesting gluten free alternatives. I did stifle a ;laugh when somebody ordered a Pimm 's and was told there was no Pimm 's. The owner and staff were very good at rearranging the furniture to make us comfortable on a very hot day and then moving us indoors. We had originally hoped to sit out on the balcony but soon discovered the flaw in this plan when the sun shone through a glass roof directly above us that didn 't have a blind on it. I didn 't mind waiting an additional 15 minutes for my cod, chips and peas to arrive after the curries and salads had been served as it reassured me that it was freshly cooked from scratch although I know it bothered other people who had already been given their food. As predicted, my large piece of cod was perfectly cooked and the chips had the right balance between being crisp yet fluffy inside. The individually requested condiments that were supplied in half full tiny metal bowls didn 't really seem to fit in with the overall ambience and only covered a third of my fish. The owner entered into some banter with the person paying ahead of me that his meal was a bargain and when he didn 't seem to agree it was pointed out by the owner he did indeed think it was very good value for everything he and wife had for food and drink. I agreed."

"On arrival we were told to sit in the conservatory as inside they couldn’t cope with 6 people at one table where we were bombarded by wasps. We were then told that ‘the shoulder of mutton’ the pubs main was not available, also we were told that no ham was available and was being replaced with bacon. Service and food arrival was very slow though the waitress was lovely. For dessert, ordered creme brulee and once again not available. We were a group of pensioners with limited income out to celebrate the birthdays of a 83 and 79 year old. We will definitely not be going back to this establishment."
